COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We arenít afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something youíve been looking for in a beer.

Somewhat disappointing. Pours nearly black with a thick tan head. Nice aroma of sweet chocolate and malt. Palate is a bit thin. The flavor starts smooth and sweet and finishes dry and bitter. I think thereís just a bit too much bitterness at the end. Not one of my favorite stouts.

Black pour with a lasting, medium sized, tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with some citrus hops. Flavor is pretty hoppy for a stout. Orange up front leading to a rich, coffee middle. Bitter finish, roasty, lingers for a while. Creamy body, soft carbonation. Pretty good but maybe a bit too hoppy.

Strong in the nose with a medium mouthfeel. A little higher alcohol and a little more hoppy for a stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a small quickly disappearing head that leaves no lacing. Aroma is ashen malt, a bit of coffee and hints of chocolate. Light to medium bitter in a disappointingly thin body, lively carbonation and a very long lightly bitter finish.

Pours big and black with an off white head about an inch thick into a pint. Aroma is roasted leaning towards coffee but a general roasted maltedness thatís unusually freshlike. Taste is nicely sweet with that roasted goodness. Thick body with a little carbonation.

355 ml bottle. Dark, dark brown body, almost black with a small, dense brown head. Very nice aroma of dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate and dry fruit. Flavor is nice as well, sweet, smooth, mild roasted dark malt, toffee, dark chocolate, mild coffee, dry fruit and a pleasant level of bitterness. Fine body and nice aftertaste of sweet tasty malt and pleasant fruity bitterness. Classic American Stout.

Poured from a bottle. Black color with a brownish head. Roasted coffee aroma, vanilla on the taste. More than anything this is a full bodied beer. Almost -- I donít know -- thick? Good beer, but I could only have one.

Not sure why Iíve never rated this - oh well - I very much enjoy this stout and always forget that fact - itís probably been a year since Iíve last had it - I am.drinking it now and reminded of what I enjoy - creamy texture - strong, but not overly bitter roastiness - some balancing vanilla and chocolate sweetness - light smokiness - finish of espresso - a nicely balanced and flavorful stout.

Look: pours black with aight brown head. Smell: chocolate. Malt heavy. Got that unbarrel aged aroma. Smiked malts. Taste: heavy smoked malts. Cocoa. Coffee. Feel: thin mouth feel for a stout. Medium carbonation. Overall: ok beer. Heavy smoked malt flavor. First drank: home 11/29/14

Poured from the bottle into a Samuel Adams glass. The pour produced a chestnut-brown, opaque body, topped by a medium head of rocky foam, which was slow to diminish. Coffee was the dominant aroma here, though I was quite surprised after my first sip. This stout brings quite a bit of hops to the game, adding a new level of floral and citrus to the roasted char I usually expect from a stout. The good thing about this heavy-handed use of hops is it is not overdone, and balances quite well. A full-bodied stout that isnít afraid to be a little bitter. Thanks, Avery, for something new!
