BigMilly8 (353), Holiday, Florida, USA Sep 10, 2007 From bottle : Aroma is coffee, hops, and a hint of alcohol. Pours black with nice finger and a half of white fluffy head. Flavor of hops, with a little bit of chocolate and coffee kicking in the end. Feels light in the mouth for a stout, and oily, but goes down very easy, like a stout you could chug. I like it though.
dpjuart (549), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2008 Draft sample at Brewery, Boulder, CO, 8/13/08. Pours black with mild amber color, khaki, small head. Roast, chocolate and slight caramel. Taste is sweet chocolate and caramel. Yummy. joebudzjoe (102), Connecticut, USA Aug 19, 2008 From Villa in Storrs, CT. Nice black color with a thick milkshake head. No thrills, just simple bold coffee & dark chocolate tones. Very malty, strong flavors despite it’s low ABV. Tasty dessert. ajm (304), USA Aug 15, 2008 A fairly straightforward beer - not to say simple, just direct. Aroma is absolute coffee-charcoal. Flavor is that plus deep dark chocolate. Striking flavor, especially for a 5% beer. Don’t know why it isn’t more highly rated. darn1207 (227), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 15, 2008 12oz bottle. black color with a frothy medium sized light brown head that stuck around for a while . fair bit of lacing also. strong aroma of coffee, dark chocolate and toasted malts. first thought on taste was it was thinner than I expected (for some reason). pretty much a bottom of a cold cup of coffee taste. with a slightly acidic bitter finish. was hoping for a bit more out of this. BREWMUSKCLES (751), WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey, USA Aug 10, 2008 Updated: Aug 11, 2008THE taste and aroma of count chocula cereal. creamy chocolate powdered sugar and vanilla with a moderate and nice hop input.velvet palate a combination of a good stout and a good hoppy amber or pale ale what with the interesting black and red highlights. a pretty good hybrid and a creation that is to be appreciated but still just a bit off balance. clearly a knowledgeable brewer taking on a challange this beers different flavors morph in you’re mouth. a must drink for advanced beer tasters.
