3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Listigovers (237) - Toronto, - JUN 27, 2009
Tasty, but fairly thin. It was definitely a good beer, but again, not a GREAT beer. Fun label! Good flavour, but needs more body to truly impress.

Keg - RC Brewfest. Strong, rich aroma of malt and peat. Very full flavor, strong malt taste and a bit sweet, hint of roasted nuts. Smooth with very little bitterness, strong aftertaste.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ADfan (274) - Orange County, California, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Deep dark brown color in the glass with good lacing. It has an aroma of coffee upfront with some molasses. There is a lot going on with the taste. I think that is the sign of a well balanced beer. There is molasses, coffee and licorice. Alcohol is hidden well. Good finish.
3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 rondphoto (606) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Opaque black/brown color with a long-lasting head and streaks of lace. This is a big stout. It begins with burnt toffee and caramel malt, then moves to black coffee and licorice. Sticky, chalky hops show up at the finish to set it off. This would go well with many desserts; the bitter would compliment the sweet in the same way as black coffee. Very well done. Recommended.
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cybercat (1899) - Georgia, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Strong, smoky aroma has tones of molasses, coffee and caramel plus a hint of licorice. It pours a deep sable with a fine-bubbled and somewhat fluffy light tan head. Flavor has notes of roast coffee and molasses with subtle tones of caramel and licorice, not as well-rounded as the best stouts I have tried but still worthwhile. Smooth texture has firm body but only average fizz. Overall, a decent stout if not outstanding. Give it a try.

Serious coffee aroma. Pitch black in color. Starts roasty then gets quite smooth; yeast notes in the finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 BHeart (20) - - APR 18, 2012
Pours dark brown, with a rich, malty coffee aroma. Smooth, slick mouthfeel, coffee flavors, rich maltiness. Very drinkable, very good, not exceptional due to a lack of more complex flavor followthrough.
