COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This big, roasty stout takes flavor to the extreme. We aren’t afraid to use plenty of rich roasted barley and a mountain of hops to give this full-bodied stout that little extra something you’ve been looking for in a beer.

Bottle: Surprisingly refreshing for a stout, drink it ice cold in a float or let it warm up to get all its complexity. Food Pairing: Vanilla Ice Cream.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Opaque, black-brown with a 3-finger light tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, apples, roasted malt, pine and orange. Taste of roasted coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and pineapple. Medium body and medium/high carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oscbert (1127) - Sacramento, California, USA - APR 17, 2015
Roasty malty aroma, dark chocolate, coffee, earthy hops. Pours black with red tints, small brownish heads that barely hangs on. Roasty coffee flavors and dark chocolate, woody flavor, slightly burnt. Medium full bodied, medium high co2, lingering burnt roastiness. Enjoyable roasty stout. Doesn't stand out from other American stouts, but solid and worth purchasing if you want a good stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz pour from room temperature bottle into Spiegelau stout glass. Large light brown head, moderate retention, considerable lacing. Pitch black and opaque. Nice smell. Nose is coffee and chocolate. Pleasantly roasty. Mouthfeel is creamy with a bit of carbonation. Taste is dry and roasty. Dark chocolate, coffee, a little burnt. Maybe a hint of vanilla. Quite bitter. A solid stout, though not my favorite.

ordybill (537) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - MAR 28, 2015
Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has a malt and coffee aroma Appearance= black with a very appealing tan head. Taste- Malt and coffee but the more I have of the beer the less impressed I am with the flavor. It seems "empty" after the beer first hits your taste buds Palate- A heavy body brew with medium carbonation and has a slightly oily texture. Overall- An OK stout, I was expecting much more from Avery.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. The pour is dark brown with decent, silky tan head. Laces. More along dark barley grains and roasted coffee on the nose. Medium body. Again, a roasted coffee and grainy taste with an earthy bitterness to finish.
