CaryTheDude (489), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. More appropriately hoppy than most other ambers. Great success. A very nice red. Surprisingly awesome, even though it’s Avery and I had high expectations from the beginning. DrDavid (486), Johnson, Vermont, USA Oct 17, 2008 (Bottle). Sweet citrusy aroma. Orange-amber body, light tan head. Taste is semi-sweet, mostly orange and some pine. Very satisfying finish. Excellent. lithy (385), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 30, 2008 Dark coppery color nice fingers of tan head. Lots of lacing. Settles to a cover. Chocolate notes among the dark amber malts. Smooth chocolate flavor, heavy, malty. Would’ve guess that this is a bock not an amber. Great beer though. glennmastrange (466), hobe sound, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of cookie, cereal and caramel, light flowers for the hops and light dough and broth for the yeast, with a hint of toffee in the background. Head is fizzy, white, with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky orange brown. Flavor is lightly sweet to start, and is lightly sweet and acidic. Palate is medium, watery edging on oily and has a lively carbonation. A nice combo of a complex beer with great drinkability. improvjock (58), USA Sep 28, 2008 Pours a dark brown with medium tan head. Nice malty flavor with a small hint of bitterness on the finish. Citrusy notes on the nose
