Commercial Description:
Some beer lovers enjoy a rich, malty brew, while others go more for hoppy beers. Our brewmaster likes both - as evidenced by this rich and caramelly amber ale with the distinct flavor and bouquet of Cascade hops. Reaching the perfect balance of crystal malt sweetness and hop bitterness took plenty of time and effort, making Redpoint the perfect beer for toasting your most recent success.

Light cloudy ruddy brown; moderate, long-lived head. Aroma is lightly of toffee and chocolate, some caramel, and full of a lot of sharp fruity notes - pineapple in particular, and some light bubblegummy esters. Initially sweet caramel flavor pulls you in, and then the floor drops out to what is actually a fairly dry ale. Definitely a fair dose of hoppiness in the flavor - some citrus and florality - which fades to a light roastiness and appropriate level of bitterness.

First sliff after the pour was sweet hops, then after the head settled, the sweetness dominates a little more, brown sugar, molasses, coffee, bitter chocalate and rum and then some hops. Pours a nice head and settles down with a ring of lacing. Seems single dimensional molassess like bittersweet with a hop spice finish. Nice all around brew.

Slight aroma of caramel, with an edge hops. Pours a clear reddish-amber, with a thin white head. Starts on the sweeter side, hints of roast and caramel, finishes with just a touch of bitterness. Very drinkable, and a well balanced beer.

Pours a dark orange/brown with a small head. really one of the nicer looking ales I have seen. A nice sweet malty back round. Very smooth on the palate with a slight sweetness. I am not a huge Ale fan unless they are really good and this one is right up there. Avery does not disappoint.

I’m not always an amber fan, mostly because it’s one of those "styles" that can mean whatever some wants it to mean. That said, this is a really drinkable beer (regardless of whatever style it fits). Sweet aroma, big malty body, good hop follow through. Avery hits it again.

Deep amber in appearance. This is a very solid beer with a good mouthfeel. There is a good balance between the hops and malt, with both having there own notable appearance.
