Batch 002. Pours a nice dark amber with absolutely zero carbonation. Aromas are pumpkin, caramel, and very active rum and wood scents. Flavors are exactly like the nose predicts, though there are some more nuanced spices mixed in and the alcohol flavors are tremendously good. The palate is super heavy and coats the tongue with a near liquor level of sticky, but even a little carbonation would help this out. Overall, this is a stellar beer, definitely the best pumpkin beer I have tasted, but a little too heavy and big to enjoy all the time; where it really wins is in the bottle size, 12 oz. is perfect for a beer this big.

Sweet, caramelly, boozy, pumpkiny, cinnamony. Flavorful and pretty delicious.

A beer that I wasn’t expecting to be that great but it is pretty good. Boozy and thick as hell but a pleasnt interplay of rum and pumpkin.

Holy shit this is sweet and boozy. These kinds of beers really are lost on me. So sweet and thick and full of spice and booze. Like an odd holiday liquor or something.

Ok, very sweet and strong, cloying sweet, boozy as shit. I prefer sessionable beers

2011. I don't really like the aroma: supercharged malts with mediocre pumpkin spices alongside. Taste is a different story altogether. Rum spices up front, Fall spices + aged booze sweetness in the middle, finishes with an oaky kick and plenty of boozy warmth. Highly refined. Damn, this stuff is delicious.

15.9% version. Cloudy brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Silky palate with a little fine carbonation. Sweet malt with some port wine flavours. A little sweet pumpkin and spice - well integrated. Touch of dark rum and a trace of vanilla wood. Finishes semi dry with mild warmth. Pretty well integrated. Tasty and a bit different!

Pours from the bottle a very nice copper color that certainly implies pumpkin, with a small and insignificant head. The aroma is really big. There’s a lot of pumpkin and spice, and a hell of a lot of alcohol in the nose. The taste is like a very, very strong Belgian ale with some pumpkin and rum tones and lots of heat. The alcohol in this thing isn’t hidden at all, it’s right up front. Not bad, but might be better with some age on it.
