Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, wood, alcohol - rum, oak - wood, pumpkin spices notes. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, pumpkin - cinnamon, rum - alcohol, oak. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20120211]

(Draught) Pours a hazy deep amber-orange body with thin beige head. Aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, caramel, vanilla, and wood. Flavor of pumpkin, caramel, allspice, clove, wood, rum, ginger, nutmeg, and some vinous.

Bottle at home ... thanks to seth ... dark copper brown ... sweet pumkin and barley wine ... light vanilla nose ... huge sweetness ... much more barley wine than pumkin beer ... little pumpkin ... soft malt .. a light rum ... heavy alcohol... very nice though

15.9% version. Cloudy brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Silky palate with a little fine carbonation. Sweet malt with some port wine flavours. A little sweet pumpkin and spice - well integrated. Touch of dark rum and a trace of vanilla wood. Finishes semi dry with mild warmth. Pretty well integrated. Tasty and a bit different!

On tap at the Bistro BA festival. Pours clear dark copper/beige head. Lite aromas of pumpkin/spice, rum and wood. Full body - nearly sticky - mild spice flavor, some rum and some oak astringency.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy dark brown color with an average to large frothy light brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy pumpkin, yeast and spice aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex pumpkin, rum wood and spice flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Complex standout brew.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2011 Bottle … Murky toasted caramel ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The bouquet is chock-full-o-wood and dark rum with a dash of nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon and a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor offers loads of sweet dark rum. Not much gourd here, but there are gobs of caramel and a dash of pumpkin pie spices. Every bit as sweet and boozy as Black Tuesday. Luxuriant, uber-sweet finish with a big splash of high octane dark rum.

Tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad barrel event. Spice and caramel aroma, huge malt flavor with too much nutmeg and cinnamon.

On tap at Capone’s. Poured a deep orangish color with a small sized head. I would say Rum dominates... especially as it warms up. Pumpkin, spices, coconut and some wood in the back ground, but all about the Rum.

On tap at Avery poured a clear dark orange amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of rum, pumpkin, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, light vanilla, light clove and a hint of oak. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a warming finish. Flavors of rum, pumpkin, vanilla, allspice, nutmeg, , light clove, light carmel and a hint of oak with a smooth lingering spiced rum finish.
