UPDATED: FEB 13, 2012 Tap @ Avery. Brown appearance with a tan head. Interesting aroma- grapes, white wine, brown sugar, caramel, and some toasty malts. The flavor is really incredibly- sweet caramel malty, brown sugar, candy sugar along with the white wine, grape, dry flavors. Thereís a real nice Bourbon flavor to the beer and overall, quite effervescent. Iím pleasantly surprised by this strange sounding concoction.

A combination sour, bourbon, wine, something? Something else. One of the most original machinations of beer I have ever tasted. Pours deep hazy red with a nice head. Should be muddy considering the flavor bill, but every flavor is distinct and excellent. No idea how that works, but Iím okay with that. A fuckin flavor kick in the teeth, throat, groin, and brain because it doesnít make sense.

On tap at Falling Rock during GABF weekend- Friday. Pours a dark red color with a medium white head. The nose was dominated by a blue cheese note, some funkiness and grapes. I actually didnít get a ton of bourbon in this beer, more funky sweet vanilla and cheese, some caramel, fruity flavors akin to grapes and berries. Nice unusual brew.

On draft at Avery during a BA release. Red wine and wood nose. Nice brownish-toned magenta with minor lacing. Palate is rounded out by the Salvation influence which also adds nice clean citrus to the finish. Peach and apricot from the Salvation is not really noticeable-this is a Recolte-influenced wild ale first with nice acid, wine barrel, and tame brett, with Salvation just providing a fuller palate and toning down the sour edges. Fun and highly drinkable.
