Poured into a tulip. Aromas of citrus and herbs. Initial taste of dough and bread. Ended with a banana taste. The palate is rich and strong. Very good beer.

Golden pour from bottle with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is fruit, funk, booze and sugar. Dry finish. Decent.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 pottygok (221) - Ohio, USA - MAY 17, 2011
Aroma: Lots of fruit in the aroma--peach, nectarine maybe--and hints of spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove maybe. Smells like a winter seasonal with late summer fruit--very yummy!
Appearance: Cloudy orange-gold with a thick white head that dissipates too quickly.
Taste: Immediate medium fruity sweetness balanced by a hint of complimentary sourness, almost like drinking a glass of orange juice. Really yummy and well balanced taste.
Palate: Medium body, creamy, slick texture--almost oily, soft carbonation, loooong finish.
Overall: A bit TOO fruity for my taste, but the balance and craft is solid. This is a really well developed beer which would pair well with something fancy like Peking Duck or Duck a l’Orange. It’s got enough flavor and body to handle sweet, greasy food, but a light and fruity flavour that I don’t think would work with heavier meats.
3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 thirstybob (34) - Isle Of Wight, ENGLAND - MAY 15, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2011 It’s a really nice beer, candy sugar slightly dominant over subtle fruit. A soft style. It’s really well crafted and the label is a joy to behold. For me it was slightly too sweet vs a dryer Belgian Tripel, but still a beer to savour.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Strykzone (2906) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - MAY 15, 2011
Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. An almost clear beer that has a bit of copper in the gold. Sugar is prominent with floral and fruity hops. They are soft, dry, and bitter. There is also some yeast and light spice. This beer works well with itself.

(22oz bottle). Pours clear dark golden-almost orange color with white head. Nice carbonation. Aroma has lots of ripe pit fruit and maybe a little citrusy guava. The fruit really dominates the nose, but its very pleasant. Taste is sweet malt backbone that is nicely balanced by some hop bitterness. The ripe fruits peek out from the bitterness to balance this out. Thin to medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture, but not as much as many other Avery beers. Finish is slightly bitter, but pleasant. This might be my favorite Avery beer in their regular line-up. Figures, they are leaving AZ now. Oh well, I can wait a year or so til they come back.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 superspak (589) - Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2011
22 ounce bottle into tulip. Pours hazy golden amber color with a dense 2 finger off white head with great retention that reduces to a lacing cap. Some nice glass lacing as well. Aromas of bread dough, peach, apricot, and spices. Some very prominent aromas here. Taste of strong peach and apricot, and spice; with a bit of caramel, and dough. No bitterness noticed at all, but the finish has linger tastes of sweet fruits and spice that linger for a good period of time. Good balance of flavors as well in the taste. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied. No alcohol noticed at all in taste or finish. Very smooth drinking and slick mouthfeel. Overall a fantastic and very tasty Belgian style!

25/04/2011 1pt bottle @ Klaas’ place - BB: n/a (2011-166) Thanx to Jeremy for the bottle!
Little cloudy golden orange beer, white creamy head, unstable and non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, ripe fruits: peaches, fruit candy, some passion fruits. MF: little carbon, full body. Taste: fruity, peaches again, citrus fruits, honey, little sugar, malts, grapefruits, slightly bitter hops. Aftertaste: more grapefruits, bitter hops, but still that general fruitiness and a bit sweet even. This comes nowhere near real Belgian ales, but I like this general fruitiness very much!
