3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"very spicy aroma and flavor...i can taste many of the aspects of the Avery/Russian River collaberation in here, but each part is not quite as good as the sum...it’s like the two Salvation Ales completed each other to make "Collaberation Not Litigation. This one has a nice, clean fruity and spicy yeast profile though, and is quite tasty with a decent dose of hops as well. Pours a dark golden, one finger head that sticks around. Medium bodied and pretty smooth. Very dry finish. "

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Aroma is rich with fruity esters, hops and toasty malt. The flavor has an intriguing spiciness I really like! The flavor favors the hops a bit more than the maltiness. A great brew while reading "Tasting Beer" by Randy Mosher...chapter 7.

Poured from bottle into a chalice glass
Appearance – Pours a golden orange color with a one finger cloudy white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave some islands of foam and some spotty lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of lighter fruit aromas or citrus, pear and apple with other more standard Belgian aromas of yeast and some spice. The clove and coriander aromas are the heaviest of the spice aromas with them combining with a light alcohol smell to produce a sweet and warming aroma.
Taste – The taste was much breadier then would have been anticipated. It starts out with a bready and malty flavor with a bit of doughiness and fruitiness of citrus. The fruit flavors grow slightly stronger more toward the middle with a light apricot and peach joining the citrus. Around this time so too comes a yeasty flavor, some candied sugar sweetness and hints of spice. The spices of coriander, pepper, and clove grow stronger to the end and are all the while joined by a lighter alcohol booziness which in the end combined with the rest to leave a somewhat drier and malty Belgian flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side with a decent amount of tiny carbonation bubbles that tingle the tongue. Both the thinner body and prickly carbonation are quite nice for the fruity flavors of the brew and make for a somewhat refreshing brew and when mixed with the alcohol flavor creates a nice sipping brew.
Overall – A pretty decent Belgian golden strong with a good deal of breadiness, not too much sweetness and a fairly nice creamy feel. One that is certainly worth a try.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was a nice golden to bronze color with tinges of yellow gracing the sides of the glass. There’s a one finger white foamy head that died within about a minute and left some light lacing here and there.
The smell had some light apricots, peaches and apples in front of some light Belgian spices such as some clove and coriander. Delicately hopped with what comes across to be some light pine to resinous features, the aroma smells absolutely wonderful.
The taste was sweet and spicy with a wonderful fruity flavoring running all over my taste buds.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with what wants to be sessionable but shows more of a sipper aspect to it.
Overall, this was a good offering by Avery well worthy of having again and could go fairly well with food.
