COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Color was golden orange-yellow and very clear. The head is a thin sheet of white bubbles with very little retention. It smells sweet like sugar and the taste is also sweet. The alcohol was noticeable but didn’t really detract from the beer. I really liked the Collaboration beer so I had high hopes for this one but it didn’t quite measure up. 09/08/08 I’m updating this review to add that this is a really mediocre beer. In fact it sucks. Aged bottle. Hazy apricot color with a tiny head that fizzled out rather quickly. The nose is fruity and inviting. Peach, apricot, candied sugar, dark fruit, spices, clove, some yeast and banana are all present. The flavor is absolutely wonderful. It’s just as complex as the aroma. Sweet and fruity at first, with spices and slight hops at the end, remains sweet thought. Medium bodied with some light tingling carbonation. The alcohol is also less noticeable than I had expected.

Pours a golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is of spices, yeast, honey, and carmel. flavor is fruity and sweet with alot of peach, apricot, apple, bananna, but also has some spices, clove, yeast, and a touch of carmel flavor. finnish is dry with a little alchol warming. overall, a pretty good Belgian Strong Ale.

On tap at brewery. Poured a deep golden color with a large off white head. Aroma has a bit of spice with some light honey and caramel. Banana, clove, and alcohol also are evident. Banana and clove are in the taste, but this time more prominent. There’s a bit of fruit, maybe pineapple and peach. Alcohol is there, but moderate. Finishes with some caramel malt, and a touch of the candy sugar.

From the bottle, about two years old. Pours a nice golden amber with a small, quickly disappearing, head. Beautiful nose. Pit fruits hit you hard. Peaches, apricots, maybe slight mango. This is followed by nice subtle spices dominated by nutmeg. Taste follows suit. Heavy on the spice with cinnamon playing a big part. The fruit is definitely there also. 9% but not a heavy burn and finishes nice.

aroma of pears and light bubblegum. appearance is transparent golden. flavor is heavily spicy and burns the throat along with its substantial ABV. flavor fades back into some of the sweet fruits from the initial nose during its dry end. spice seems obtrusive at first but becomes tolerable after a couple ounces.

Dark honey color with a frothy white head that dissipates fast but leaves nice lacing. Sweet aroma of honey and apple. Lots of malt in the flavor with just a bit of hoppiness at the end. Finishes dry with a bit of alcohol warmth. Well balanced and quite drinkable.
