Bottle from Systembolaget.
Clear golden color with short white head.
Huge plesent belgian aroma with nutmeg.
Smooth taste with lots of belgian taste, fruity and lite phenolic.
Small sweetness and firm bitterness. The body is perfectly balanced with all the tastes in the beer. This is a very good Belgian strongbeer. Perfect to enjoy in a cold autom weekend.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20 PalCabral (35) - SWEDEN - NOV 25, 2011
Pours hazy golden with a foamy white head that settles into a rather fine vail. The consistency though is raving with yeast making the beer look slightly unappetizing. Aroma yeasty and slightly hoppy, not sweet but rather farmyardish. I’d say from the smell of it, it’s more like a french farmhouse ale than anything belgian. The taste is devoid of sweetness, american and european hops overwhelms the malt in what is definitely uncharacteristic for a belgian (or french) beer. It’s not bad, but I just don’t fancy the hops they’ve used. However, it does disguise the beer’s alcohol level quite effectively. It’’s a full tasting beer but the carbonation level is good, making it easier to drink it. No my favourite beer, but not bad. I’m just not too fond of beers that mix two continents, or pretend to be more one or the other than it really is. Put another label on it and it could have passed as a pale ale.

This beer was pretty good but it is way strong and you really know it after the first sip
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 berlinoise2go (342) - NORWAY - NOV 18, 2011
Bottle (1pt) from Systembolaget. Inch-thick white head, quite sticky, recedes slowly leaving some bubbly lacing. Lovely, deep golden colour, clear with some particles. Aroma of funky hops, esters (peach, banana, yellow apple), alcohol and spices. Spicy-sweet taste (coriander, mild chili), discreet acidity and a slowly emerging bitterness - leaving a well-balanced impression. Mouthfeel is vinous with soft carbonation, medium/full body. Belgian style with a twist - I’d say a successful one.

Shared bottle at RBNAG 11. Deep golden body with almost no head. Body feels oily. Aroma of sweet malt, alcohol, citrus fruit and spices. Flavor is very sweet malt, fruit, spices and a bit vinous. Typical strong Belgium style. Thick body. Sweet aftertaste, some bitterness and warming alcohol.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sparf (22) - Östersund, SWEDEN - NOV 6, 2011
Clear, light colour. Head ok. Large fruity aroma. Peaches, citrus and a bit of scotch. Lovely fruit explosion and a square deal of alcohol. Round and full-bodied. Divided sensation: on the one side a round and soft cellar like dense fruitiness, on the other side a nasty, spritzy shower. Weird but good, even if the alcohol makes itself felt too much. Aftertaste is light and pleasant.

Bottle. Pours golden with a big white head. Smells and tastes sweet hoppy, almost honey like with a similar finish.
