COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

This comes in a beautiful bottle - really pretty artwork. Dark gold color with a spicy fruity aroma. Nice hops and smooth finish. Not too bad on the high alcohol taste.

Dark golden color with a medium thick milky-white head. Nice effervescence. Alternating fruity and hoppy aroma. Nice tart flavor of herbs and spices and hops. Surprisingly easy to drink as well. $6 a bottle around here but this was actually worth it.

Dark golden color with a thin, lasting white head. Strong malty sweetness with a sublte spicyness to it. Strong hop bitterness in finish.

Almost a smokey inital aroma and malt flavor, although it may be better described as peppery or spicy... turns straight to the candy/sugar aftertaste expected from beers from this brewery...I was actually quite impressed by its innovation, I have never tasted a beer this color (golden, little head) so smokey, spicy, and sharp. It is a shame the candy flavor has to creep in at the end as it warms, otherwise the most complex and best beer from this brewery. Unfortunately , WAY too sweet in the finish.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2003 Rerate, sober this time: Apricot-colored w/a white & foamy head. Fresh yeasty nose. Sharp and strong mouthfeel. Interesting and subtle burnt flavor in the malt. Large hop bitterness in the finish; dryish too. Seems to improve in flavor and become richer with every sip.

Golden/orange - clear. poured with little head then nothing. Fruity/flower aroma. The first sip was alcohol/yeasty/sugar/hops - a blast of every great flavor at once. second sip - alc and sugar. Medium/thin body - full yet not heavy. My face warms. I’m drinking this a bit cold - the flavors are confounding my tongue - complexity. The sips begin to alternate - yeast/hop then I notice a wee little bit of prickly carbonation, then hops/alc followed by some sweetness and more warmth. I thought this was bottle conditioned, but it remains very clear in my glass. Things get a bit intense as it warms, I think colder is better on this one (for my tastes, at least). Nirvana.

Very interesting, and, after a full 750, I’m still not sure how I feel about it. A pretty beer, lovely golden with a hint of brown. Head is frothy and sticky with a slight salmon tinge to the color. Love the nose--it’s soft, creamy, and fruity, and a little musty. It’s a very sweet brew, lots of candy sugar. Very fruity, starting with a slightly harsh banana flavor, finishing up liked sweetened apple juice with some pear and peach added. Fizzy, akin to ginger ale. Nice round, soft, and luscious mouthfeel, melding with the sugary fruitiness to make this taste like a liquid taffy of some sort. The sweetness lacks depth, however, and lacks any particularly distinctive flavor. My guess is this would improve considerably with aging.

Sweet sugar & slightly spicy aroma. Taste is sweet and slightly astringent. I’ve liked the other Avery beers I’ve tried, but this one misses the mark.

Gold metallic color; No head; WONDERFUL floral nose unlike any I have smelled in this style. Nice dry alcohol to start. Minimal spice- becomes quite cloying at the halfway mark. Sweetness is about to do itself in.
