COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Aroma and taste are dominated by yeast and a bit of an alcohol burn. Beer is light amber hue with a slight head. More balanced than some of Averyís high abv beers.

Appearance: clear honeyed gold with a creamy and short near-white head. Aroma: nice nose full of honey, belgian yeast, peaches in heavy syrup, maybe some mango and banana, definitely apricot and pineapple. Taste: as the aroma indicated; add in some biscuit dough and cracker. Finish: sweet, with lingering yeasty spice imparting a bit of peppery; alcohol is totally hidden, and the palate is almost syrupy. Notes: Fantastic take on the style. Bottle from Sarah for Beerthday 2015.

Draft at Moriartys. Hazy gold pour. Slim soft fizzy/foamy white head. Splashes of lace. Strong sweet Belgium yeast flavors. Syrupy body. Sugared dough. Buttered croissants. Honeycomb. Blonde caramel toffee. Herbal floral hops. Horehound. Thyme. Kumquat. Dandelion. Pineapple. Honeycomb. Sweet nose. Semi-dry finish. Admittedly as good for the style as any non-Belgium brewer has produced - though ultimately not to my particular taste.

Rated based on notes taken 3 July 2012 -- This was a great Belgian, and let me frame that by saying Iím not a big fan of Belgians. This was well done, enough that I really really enjoyed it. Can I have some more please.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint 6 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 9%. Appearance: The body has a light haze and a light amber color. It is topped off with a small white head which settles out leaving just a ring of foam at the edge of the glass. Smell: The aroma offers notes of sweet tropical fruit, herbal and citrusy hops with a light boozy character backing it all up. Taste / Palate: Itís sweet up front and notes of sweet pineapple pop out of a light bready and raw grain like maltiness. If finish adds some citrus notes and mild bitterness. The palate feels smooth and full with soft carbonation.

12 oz pour from refrigerated bottled allowed to warm into stemmed tulip glass. Sizable white head, fairly opaque, golden, great carbonation. Mouthfeel moderate-on-creamy. Nose is fruit (citrus and tropical) and a little yeast. Taste is similar with decent maltiness as well. A little cinnamon too

Floral aromas, brilliantly citrusy with predominant notes of lime and herbs. Hazy yellow-straw with a fully lasting white head. Floral, spicy, subtly fruity. Light-medium bodied.

Aroma is very yeasty, reminds me of a lot of commercial beers out there. I am getting some of the apricot and peach from the description, but itís muted. Some banana peel and clove also. Looks pretty standard - dark golden in color with a white head. Tastes like banana, nutmeg and brown sugar. Aftertaste is spicy, booze is hidden very well. Palate is good enough, nothing spectacular. Admittedly, this is a style that Iím not all that familiar with, but this beer didnít really do it for me.
