2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 skortila (4035) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 19, 2006
Bottled, UDRBG. Aroma of hops, oranges and mandarines. Hazy, yellow coloured with a medium, off-white head. Taste is way too sweet, makin it nothing close to a belgian style beer. Even Leffe is not this sweet. Oranges, honey and hops. It is tea with too much honey. Very disappointing.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 sebletitje (4011) - Enghien, BELGIUM - OCT 26, 2008
Pours golden hazy, beige head.
Aroma, candi sugar and yeasty.
Taste, malty, thick grainy notes and lots of alcohol with sweet honey. Some fruits (citrus).
Overall sweet with a medium body and thick mouthfeel. Leaves a light apple/cider taste.

Poured a clear golden with a small head. Aroma of floral hops and tea. Flavor of alcohol and some tea. A bit dry with some orange as well.

Bottle: Pale golden in color, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing, very light carbonation. Sickly sweet nectar like aroma, very slight band-aid, otherwise dull spiced background. Slight floral, medicinal, and herbal/floral aspects as well. Rich malty start, fairly sweet, but a bit astringent as well. Much like a Belgian Golden, and perhaps a bit heavier. Fairly chewy, and certainly big bodied. A bit rough overall, with very slight alcohol on the exit. Tiz okay, but certainly doesnt seem that belgian to me.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheBeerGod (3960) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - NOV 8, 2003
Pours a rich golden brown. Small off-white head. Nose has hop pininess, ripened fruit, and spice. Definite malt and fruit notes interspersed with hops in the taste. Maybe peach mixed with light pine. Pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. Indeed this is hoppier than any Belgian style beer I can think of off-hand. This would be NICE if aged for a few years. Nevertheless, quality stuff from Avery!
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 PorterPounder (3944) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2004
Picked up at Whole Foods in Austin, Tx. Dark golden to light amber colored pour, solid, thick white head. Aroma of spearmint, cotton candy and bubble gum. Flavor has some of the same accents wirh some toffee like malty sweetness - quite delectable. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, coats the mouth. Finish is strong - lets you know you just had a 9% ABV beer, but is hidden well. Another stellar product from Avery.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 marcus (3776) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 30, 2006
On tap at the Liar’s Club. This orange ale poured with a thin off-white head. It is medium-bodied and slightly sweet, but leaves a bitter chalky taste on the tongue. Very nice.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Suttree (3766) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 23, 2003
Fruity Vanilla aroma, which is very enticing. Dark Gold, no head Clean crisp, with all those familiar "Belgian" Flavors - Musty, fruity sweetness, toffee - right up against several American Pale flavors - resiny pine hops, citrus flavors in the finish. This is a cool style buster and a pretty good beer.
