COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Pours a lighter orange color with a nice white head. Sweet aroma with some good spice to it, slightly yeasty with a very noticable hop presence lingering around. Taste was citrusy, clove, and some other spices, and smooth with a sweet start and a balanced bitter end.

On tap at Vintage Estates, great place, thanks Ron, I mean Nuts. Starts off with a big and creamy alabaster head then the head fades to a steady quarter inch. Otherwise this stuff looks like ubiquitous pale yellow american beer. Below average carbonation initially on the tongue. Starts off pretty hoppy but that evolves into a more friendly fruity feel. Each sip after the other seems less bitter than the first. Tends to get better tasting and more enjoyable as the session continues. Must be that numbing effect of the alky content. Finish is quite alcoholic.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2008 (bottle - 22 oz) Coppery orange in color with a thin and lasting white head and decent carbonation. Aroma is very sweet and fruity with hints of apricots, peaches, candy sugar, alcohol, some spices, and yeast. Flavor is very sweet at the front with a slight hint of spices underneath. The middle is fruity and sweet with some peaches and cinnamon. The finish is medium-bodied, spicy, and bitter. The bitterness lingers for a bit and the flavor dies away kind of quickly.

Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is spicy and fruity with some Belgium earthiness - there is also some peppery aspects. Farily forceful and rich for not being bottle conditioned. Medium / full body with lots of carbonation.Taste has crisp fruitiness with a spice bite and some metalicnes. There is some Belgium feel to it, but with this not being bottle conditioned it takes away from what it could be. Finish adds more spice and some hops. This is a good deal for the price tag, but it is obviously an interpretation - there is no mistaking this for a Belgium classic.

22oz bottle - Pours golden with a moderate head. The pleasant aroma is of yeast and citrus. The palate was lively and the finish fairly crisp. I didn’t think the alcohol presence was too strong at all. However, even though I have a sweet tooth when it comes to Belgian ales, I did think this one was TOO sweet. I think a bit less candi sugar would be a good idea. The sweetness was rather cloying. There are some good spice notes though. Overall it’s a solid ale, though not a great one.

Pours a deep golden amber with lots of egg white head foaming on the rim. The aroma is very sweet and floral. The flavor is rich and sweet with lots of honey and candi sugars. Little bits of bubblegum flavor and clove arive as it warms up. Very spicy and very complex, this is a very strong and full bodied Belgian, that is very enjoyable.

Bottle. Thanks to my brother for sharing this. Aroma has lots of citrus orange rinds and lemons with a fair amount of coriander and some yeast notes. Citrus aromas are more dominant. Mildly hazy blonde/copper color with a nice frothy white head. Start is citrusy orange turning into a very cloying sweet middle. Finish is kind of weak with mild hints of pineapples. Too sweet and cloying for a belgian strong ale. Not enough hops or complexity for me.
