COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Pours golden with orange highlights, slighly hazy. Aroma is sweet candy sugar and spices, with only a little of the peach mentioned in the description. Flavor is very sweet, lots of residuel candy sugar with a spice finish, mostly nutmeg. Takes a little hit in flavor and overall because it’s overly sweet.

brewtopia 10/21/06. Orange in color. Aroma is fruit and spices, sweet malt. Taste is the same with a full palate. Good.

22oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, deeper gold colored body with a finger-width, white, fizzy head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is quite nice. Flowery hops with peaches, mangos, and apricots. A nice spicing accompanies the honey-banana malts and candies. Nutmeg and cinnamon as advertised. Flavor is similar with a rounded, spiced sweetness. Lots of cinnamon and nutmeg with a light, herbal bitterness. Medium sweet, perfume-like malts with a candy taste and some fruits, but not as distinct as the aroma. Some honey and a light wood comes in at the end with a big alcohol warmth. The spices dry this out in the finish and leave a light peachy sweet, spiced nutmeg and cinnamon aftertaste. Medium bodied and extremely soft with a light carbonation. Overall, a pretty enjoyable beer. Nice aroma and solid flavor. Could use a little less spice and alcohol warmth, but tasty nonetheless. Really nice feeling body too.

Clear golden body with a minimal white head. The aroma is sweet honey and yeast. The flavor is quite fruity and complex. The lingering aftertaste is that of honey dipped peaches. Full body with a lively carbonation. Pretty good stuff.

This one just wasn’t for me. If I wanted to drink rubbing alcohol, I know exactly where to find it. I simply don’t want it in my beer. For me, this had a decisively isopropyl flavor, especially on the finish. Gave me the shivers each time I would swallow the sip. The aroma has a pleasant fruityness, combined with a clean malt/yeast profile really had me going for a second. This just failed to deliver. Overly sweet, too much alcohol...just bleh.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2005 Dark golden. Sweet hoppy finish leaves me smacking my lips. Interesting, but not complex.
