COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle. Light amber with a small white head. Sweet aroma with fruit, yeast and some alcohol. The taste was sweet and fruity with yeast, resin and citrus. The mouth feel was quite thick. An ok beer.

Whole Foods, P St, DC 22oz ($7): Pours a light copper color with a white head. Aroma is fruity, spicy, and a whole bunch of Belgian yeast (the kind I like). Taste is of spicy, peppery, and quite dry. Taste is a little sweet. Nice hop flavor. There is a booze moment here and there. Good mouthfeel overall. Definitely the kind of Belgian ale that I like.

Bottle. Poured orange with a creamy white head that left light lace. Floral aromas with fruit, grain, and light malts also found. Floral and fruity flavor. Medium body and sweet.

From a 22 oz. gold foil wrapped capped bomber bottle, blurb along the right side of label, no bottled/freshness date, sampled from the refrigerator in a chalice. Poured a cloudy orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin, bubbly lacing, small amount of laced sticking. Aromas of peppery spice, nutmeg and sugary alcohol, honey wheat malts, apricot and citrus fruity. Good carbonation and crisp, dry and smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Pleasant tasting with the Avery kink, apricot, peach and orange fruity, a bit sugary, but light in the candiness, honey malts, peppery, earthy hops, a mild rolling bitterness, the alcohol is sweet and warming in the palate, and a dry earthy, peach fruity, sweet malty finish with the alcohol lingering in the palate, good strong pale ale drinkability. I can’t believe I hadn’t try this before, a good Belgian strong pale ale with the Avery twist, worth trying.

Cloudy orange red color, fig alcohol aroma, sweet almost brany like taste, heavy but not complex, that light brandy taste stays right to the end

JMerritt (1568) - Macomb, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2003
Sampled at the Peoria International Beer Festival. Golden colored, no head, slightly hazy. Apricot aroma. Flavor is not as mellowed as I was hoping. Instead, it was a tad too over-hopped with little malt balance. Perhaps this is one best sampled after it has been aged. Straight out of the bottle, I was a tad underimpressed.

Gold/amber color. Floral aroma, with hops and some fruit. Flavor is hoppy, but not as much as the aroma would lead you to believe. There’s a fruity flavor as well. Body is just right.

22oz. Bomber: This one pours a darker golden color. There was a limited amount of head on it, and it died off quickly. There is a very apealing aroma to this beer. No one scent is on top, but I get definite notes of apricots, nutmeg, and some yeastiness. The taste is quite slick. There aare the peaches and apricots in there, as well as some spiciness. I like this alot!
