COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAR 10, 2004
22 oz bottle, tulip glass. Toast grain/light bread malt (L); perfume and flower hops (M); doughy yesat (L); nutmeg aroma. Clear golden-peach body has a large, creamy white head that is slowly diminishing. Moderately sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic flavor becomes a moderately bitter, lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish. Medium-heavy body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: fourth bottle of Avery in a row that has wowed me.

Bottle as shown. Pours a orange golden color with a medium white head that dimishes quickly. Has a stong fruity aroma of tangerine and apples. Good lacing on this one. The taste is a sweet orange and citrus with a smooth finish that hides the alcohol well. A very impressive belgian strong ale from Avery.

Stine (1398) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - MAR 11, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2007 On tap at the Happy Gnome. Light, golden orange in color. Syrupy and pungent aroma of sour orange and urinal alcohol. Tastes of lemon zest and some floral hops with a slight but forceful presence of alcohol. Palate is light but not hollow, and quite smooth. Not memorable, and made with a sloppy design, though it retains tolerability throughout.

Draft at Avery Taproom. Pours golden with a slight head that leaves a lot of lacing. Has a slight champagne yeast quality on the nose. Taste has a touch of sweetness to it as well as some fruitiness. It hides it’s alcohol fairly well. Clean finisher.
