Copper body with an off-white head. Creamy and lingering. Lemony sweet aroma. Reminds me of Crystal Light. Much more subdued aroma than is typical for Avery’s big brews. Really great mouthfeel. Very soft and velvety. Pronounced yeast and citrus flavors.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Magjayran (1379) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 26, 2005
From a bottle. Pours a golden color with a fairly small white head. Decent lacing. Aroma is filled with tropical fruit such as banana and light pineapple with some alcohol. Flavor is filled with the same fruits as the aroma with a slightly spicy finish and of course lingering alcohol like most of Avery’s big beers. Enjoyable but not spectacular.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JCapriotti (1379) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 9, 2006
I let this one sit in a box for a while before I remembered it... maybe a year? Shiny clear amber/gold/orange color. Thin white soapy ring. Malty aroma. Kind of odd... very sweet banana. Taste is slightly stale, mostly sweet banana. Slight hop notes, but very sweet fruity malt. Kind of pleasant, but not with too much.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 LaChad (1375) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 6, 2003
Pale amber, small head. Sweet aroma & taste; almost sugary. Nice!! Fruits of all kinds are apparent: Apple, grape, grapefruit, peach, nectarine. Complex and wonderful.

Copper color with a small head that left good lacing on the glass. Sweet, fruity nose dominated by honey and peaches. Spices and fruits in the taste with a sweet malt finish. Nice carbonation produces a smooth and lively sampling. (beautiful label, too)
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 elihapa (1369) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - FEB 21, 2009
Avery Salvation 2/20/09 (bottle, shared at tasting. Pours havy orange with a soap-like, big bubble head. Aroma has some candy sweetness, fruit and bubble gum. Palate is soft, medium-thick, and only moderately carbonated. Finish maintains sweetness, while yielding some alcohol flavors. A little boring for a Belgian strong ale.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 savnac (1365) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - JUN 1, 2010
22 oz bottle. Clear golden yellow with a foamy pure white head. Sweet malt and candi sugar aroma with light fruit and some spices. The flavor is lots of bready sweet malt with some light spices and apple. Medium body with average carbonation and a long sweet finish. Pretty solid beer, semi-sweet and hides the alcohol well.
