Bottled. An orange gold coloured beer with a nice whitish head. The aroma is very yeasty. Perfumed orange and lemon hoppiness also. A little alcohol warmth also. The taste is very yeasty but also suprisingly sweet. Then some bitterness comes through. Alcohol also. Pretty damn complex but it’s questionable whether there’s too much going on. I think it’s actually intriguingly nice.

UPDATED: APR 6, 2011 Very floral aroma, nice and estery, with cherries and spearmint aromas. Clear clean gold appearance. The flavor is at first vbery pleasent, and is very calm. It turns to very strong alcohol, acidic flavors. The finish is very smooth and fresh, with minimal bitter bite.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2007 Hoppy oranges and yeast scrape the lining of a mango peel...Burlesque, unripe honeyed bananas are tangled with candied apricots and herbal, green hop bitterness...The silky, creamy feel leads to an unforeseen alcohol bitterness...Reminds me of Dieu du Ciel’s Dernière Volonté...

Pours with a fizzy, white head that has good lacing. Sweet, slightly floral hopped aroma with sugar and some cinnamon. Taste is way too forward with the alcohol. Some sweetness afterwards. Slightly fizzy carbonation mixed with a creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle. Orange colour with a big off-white head. Sweet fruity, metallic, hoppy aroma and taste. Medium to full body with a sweet metallic finish. To much metal in this one.

Dull totally clear golden. Honest white film. Another typical Avery yeasty/hoppy belgian aroma. Hops are grapefruity, orangey and floral and somehow hides some of the malt development into a fruitiness approaching pears. Again the avery alcohol heating limits the apparent complexity. Palate is flowery, orangey.. not much else. Alright hoppy belgian ale I guess with a gentle bitter and heating (contained though) finish. Rather light bodied and sadly very low carbonation for a belgian ale. Laughable commercial description.

Yeasty aroma, cloudy orange, a nice head with lace. Hoppy yet creamy, grapefruit bitterness on palate. Another purposely over-the-top hopped-up Avery. Full mouthfeel, some spicyness and drying finish. Would have been fine with hope restraint. Maybe some cellaring. Thanks Tupalev.

On draft at the Drafting Room, Spring House, PA. Deep gold pour with medium white head and great lace. Aroma of malt, hopcit, fruit (apricot and peach), perfume. Tastes malty, fruity, rich, with hopcit, some candi sugar. Very complex and nicely balanced. Very solid, rich, smooth finish with some Belgian ale.tripel qualities. This one is just delicious. I haven’t had the bottled version, but the draft kicks major ass.
