4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 dolemite77 (184) - Maryville, Tennessee, USA - APR 29, 2008
Nice belgian strong. Pours golden with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is sweet and fruity, with a bit of alcohol in it also. Flavor is spiced fruit (this could work as a christmastime beer). It is a full bodied beer, that lives up to the commercial description of being champagne-like. I wish I had tried this one and the Russian River Salvation before trying their Collaboration ale. It would be interesting to taste the way it worked in that blend. Might need to try a 3 way tasting of the two Salvations, and then the Collaboration.

Big and robust. The aroma has hops and dried fruit. The appearance is light but very golden. The 9% ABV doesn’t really overpower the taste, which is always great.

(22oz bottle). Pours clear dark golden-almost orange color with white head. Nice carbonation. Aroma has lots of ripe pit fruit and maybe a little citrusy guava. The fruit really dominates the nose, but its very pleasant. Taste is sweet malt backbone that is nicely balanced by some hop bitterness. The ripe fruits peek out from the bitterness to balance this out. Thin to medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture, but not as much as many other Avery beers. Finish is slightly bitter, but pleasant. This might be my favorite Avery beer in their regular line-up. Figures, they are leaving AZ now. Oh well, I can wait a year or so til they come back.

Beautiful golden/amber liquid. Nice creamy finger and a half of head with great retention. Decent lacing.
Big yeasty bread smell. Candy sugars and maltiness. Peaches and pears, maybe a hint of nectarines. Spicey notes of coriander and nutmeg.
Yeast, malt and candy sugars. Citrus flavors, light and sweet. Pecan nuttiness. Slight peppery spice. Light floral hop quality.
Very nice body. Creamy and smooth, yet not overly heavy.
Excellently drinkable.

Slightly hazy orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of apricots, banana and citrus and a little caramel malt and spices. Taste is sweet, quite fruity, and full. Body is full. Very good.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2007
Warm amber with a small head. The aroma has notes of hops, spice (coriander and more) and fruit. The flavour is fruity with notes of peach, a bit of apple, coriander, candy sugar, caramel and the finish has a nice bitterness, more than the Belgian ones, but just right for me. A nice one - seems to be words at the end of all my Avery ratings :)

Sweet aroma, golden orange color, white foam head. Nice spicy and fruity Belgian taste. An exellent Belgian-style ale.
