The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Big and robust. The aroma has hops and dried fruit. The appearance is light but very golden. The 9% ABV doesn’t really overpower the taste, which is always great.

(22oz bottle). Pours clear dark golden-almost orange color with white head. Nice carbonation. Aroma has lots of ripe pit fruit and maybe a little citrusy guava. The fruit really dominates the nose, but its very pleasant. Taste is sweet malt backbone that is nicely balanced by some hop bitterness. The ripe fruits peek out from the bitterness to balance this out. Thin to medium bodied with a somewhat sticky texture, but not as much as many other Avery beers. Finish is slightly bitter, but pleasant. This might be my favorite Avery beer in their regular line-up. Figures, they are leaving AZ now. Oh well, I can wait a year or so til they come back.

Poured into a tulip. Aromas of citrus and herbs. Initial taste of dough and bread. Ended with a banana taste. The palate is rich and strong. Very good beer.

Absolutely superb. Belgian yeast is perfectly plentiful. Love the fruity and spicy notes, and perhaps most of all the thick mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Smells lightly fruity with a hint of bread yeastiness. Taste is fruity, hints of spices, soft breadiness. Medium to full bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Avery Salvation finishes with a soft light fruit kick.

Aroma is east mall to hop and a little spice. Appearance has a small but long-lasting off-white head, some lacing and a slightly hazy orange amber color. Flavor is like aroma plus has some malt and fruit sweetness with plenty of hop bitterness but there are some medicinal qualities to the aftertaste. Body is good with just a touch softness. Overall it's pretty good beer except for that medicinal thing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Warm amber with a small head. The aroma has notes of hops, spice (coriander and more) and fruit. The flavour is fruity with notes of peach, a bit of apple, coriander, candy sugar, caramel and the finish has a nice bitterness, more than the Belgian ones, but just right for me. A nice one - seems to be words at the end of all my Avery ratings :)

From tap served in a heavy glass goblet Light orange with a nice light foamy head on top which lasted the entire glass coating the sides as it went down. Smelled of fruits and alcohol with a sweetness. When it firsts hits your tongue it has a sweetness but a wholesome kind of sweetness not sugary. Then you get fruit flavors with a little bit of alcohol and a very slight bitterness - a very nice balance Has a very nice carbonation throughout that lasted the entire time. It is crisp and creamy at the same time and goes down very smoothly. The flavors stay in your mouth for a while and you can feel the warmth spreading around throughout your mouth and down your throat. I really enjoyed this beer. It went down smoothly and the taste was consistent even getting richer as it warmed and opened up. You can definitely feel the high alcohol content so I savored the beer for a while.

Bottle, at various locations during the Zythos weekend, March 2006. Gold, moderate white head and good condition. Big intense malty sweet perfumed honey notes tempered by chalky bitter yeast.
