UPDATED: DEC 17, 2006 2003 bottle sampled July 2004. Pours a sparklingly bright golden yellow with deep orange tinges and a lovely off-white foamy head. Aroma of candi sugar, light nectarines, yeast and a mild spice. Flavor is magnificent. Upon first sip I fell in love with this one. Just the most smooth, remarkably soft and luxurious palate. Not challenging with spice, no acid/alcohol burn or overcarbonation to get around. Wow. The flavor has soft yellow fruit notes, a very present and bold belgian yeast with a moderately sweet malt on the finish. As it warmed and breathed, every sip got better; more fruit, a softer palate and more delectable flavors to pick out (light cinnamon, hints of vanilla and orange). The hops never get in the way and arent very apparent, but keep the malt sweetness in check without you even realizing it. Superb and one of the best beers I’ve tried lately. Give me a bit more going on in the aroma (which suffers from the beer’s easygoing, soft subtle nature), some bottle conditioning and maybe a touch more yeasty funkiness and this would be near or perfect. 8/4/9/4/18

Head is still quite full and frothy, slightly off-white. Fades to cover, but retained there, with some small, patchy lacing left behind. Clear, filtered.
Apples are the first thing I smell in the nose. Not green apple, but a sourish sort of cider apple. Perhaps just old hop notes? It doesnt seem to come out of the beer either throuh breathing. Candi sugar, some yellow fruit esters and a bit of alcohol.
The flavor takes some getting used to. There is definitely a lot of candi sugar felt, with alcohol present as well. The filtered body is not overly thin or watery and the carbonation fairly good for being forced. Pretty simple, with some hop flavor and lots of phenols on the end. Score is for this bottle.

(22 oz. from Grain and Vine) Pours gold/orange/amber with a thin, lightly amberish off-white head. Aroma is sweet, a little bready with some light spice and caramel. Mouthfeel is light, soft, sticky. Flavor is sweet balanced with bitter, light caramel, spice, bread and fruit. A little hot in the finish.

Pours hazy blond with a couple fingers head, smell is apple, cinnamon, belgium yeast sweetness, taste is fruity, clove, gum, bit of alcohol, very inoffensive, good beer.

Clear light golden pour with thin off-white head. Fruity aroma of peach and apricot with some spice notes - pretty nice. Taste begins with a big dose of spicy Belgian yeast followed by some sweet fruitiness and just a hint of bready malt and finishes with just a very slightly bitter aftertaste. Creamy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Pretty decent overall.

Pourd clear golden and orange head dissapates quickly spicy aroma of clove, nutmeg, and bread flavor is sweet with spicy notes of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg. Hint of banana in the flavor too finishes clean interesting beer not a huge fan of cinnamon in this belgian too spicy for this style for me to enjoy

Bottle. Strong bread, yeast, banana, ripe fruit on the nose. Pours golden with thin white head that lasts, good lacing. Flavor is Belgian all the way, sweet, bready, fruits and strong cloves at the onset. Good palate, decently long lasting.

Golen with a white head - sweet flower/fruit aroma - taste is of caramel malt with some spicy/fruity notes - nice spicy finish - nice

Pour gold with small white head. Smells like golden fruits, flowers, and a little spice. Taste is big and complex with notes of flowers, apricot, banana, sweets malts, spices, yeast and hops. Med-full bodied. After taste has cinnamon, malts and dry hopped. Hop presence is big, but not too bitter. Cinnamon is pretty obvious and creates a lot of warming on the tongue. Good, interesting, and balanced beer.

Appearance is clear golden with a pale head that leaves behind some nice lacing. Aroma is peach, apricot, marmalade, pear, hint of wet hay. Reasonable body, slightly syrupy mouthfeel, sweet on the palate with a little bitterness in the finish. Taste is stone fruits, honey, citrus. Seems quite like a Belgian Tripel.

The beer pours a golden straw color with white head. The nose smells of floral apricots, subtle spice, perhaps coriander and nutmeg and hints of cinnamon. The Flavors starts with a little barnyard, followed by a sweet apricot the middle has a touch of bitterness and finishes with a off dry sweet flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
