Commercial Description:
The success of HOG HEAVEN and THE REVEREND clearly demonstrates that beer drinkers are willing to embrace "BIGGER" beers. In the fall of 2001, we decided that a lighter BIG BEER would complement its darker colored predecessors. Salvation has luscious apricot and peach aromas delicately interwoven with spicy suggestions of nutmeg and cinnamon. This heavenly soft, champagne-like elixir is cellarable for 3 years.

Bottle. Poured a slightly hazy golden color with a nice, fluffy white head that left decent lacing. Sweet citrus and a light hoppiness on the nose. Nice semi-sweet, semi-sour entry leads into a nice hoppy finish. Some yestiness in the finish also. Pretty easy to drink for 9%, I would like to try it fresh, because it would probably be much better. Overall, solid, and better than I expected.

Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is sweet fruity with hops and peach. The flavor is sweet and yeasty with light hops and general fruity esters. Lightly dry finish. Pretty good.

Style and Glass: Belgian Strong Ale; Trappist, Tulip ABV, Volume & Calories: 9 % in 22 fl oz. estimated at 400 C Purchased at: Super Saver, Pennington, NJ for $6.99 Aroma: wonderful, banana, peach, fruit. 8 out of 10. Visuals: fine label design, brilliant, golden, clear, thin white head, nice lace. 5 out of 5. Taste: mostly malt, little hops, medium strength, lower craft, washy. 6 out of 10. Palate: medium quality, washy texture, soft medium finish. 3 out of 5. Overall: not nearly as good as Golden Monkey — more like a high ABV Hoegaarden, not a repeat, not a favorite, lower value, lower craft. 13 out of 20.

bomber. hazy orange-gold pour with a big white head and a fair amount of lacing. little floaty bits. extremely spicy yeast aroma. started and finished spicy sweet... little too much. there are citrusy hops in there somewhere - but can just barely detect. mostly just the spice and yeast. not my favorite. K-6

Appearance: Pours a clear, lightly copper body with a full, foamy, white head. Smell: Aroma smelling lightly of fruits (mainly peaches and pears) shrouded in a layer of nutmeg and allspice. Slight bready malt character, too. Taste: Sweet and malty upfront, with full tastes of simple syrup stirred up with light caramel. Fruit juices enter the picture, giving flavors of peaches and pears and even figs. Floral, spicy hops with a medium bitter; not nearly enough to scrub away all the sweetness unleashed. What has been wrought the hops cannot unwrought. Some solventy alcohol near the end. Floral, spicy-packed finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A nice, pleasant Belgian Strong Golden, though a bit overtly sweet.
