I love the look of the floaters in this one....smells very malty and delicious. Potent is the word for it. It is heavy flavor of raisins...Interesting flavor this one....sweet and burnt at the same time. Personally there is just too much going on in this one and it is too complex for me. thewolf (5722), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Bottle, bought at Wohlenberg, Sønderborg. Pours a slight hazy redish orange with a small beige film head that ends up in the sides of the glass. Powerful malty aroma. There is caramel, oranges, oak and a nice alcohol feel to it. Quite low carbonation, kind of oily. Flavour is very sweet, with tones of raisins, lots of oak, sweet and burnt caramel. The oaky presence is not too much, but the alcohol is warming well. Actually very nice - the sweetness is only present at the beginning, but the oakyness and slight citric bitterness is helping well. bdigital (586), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Murky copper color on this angel of death with a head as big as the wings themselves. Big grapefruit aroma with notes of oranges, peach, oak and some floral hop accents. The initial taste almost seared my taste buds off, holy sh.. I started breathing fire after tasting this thing and thought for a second there my name was Dante. After I finally came to my senses minutes later this brew had opened up a bit and the caramel and citrus hop flavors had masked the alcohol much better. The oak aspects definitely were present without making me feel like I was licking a tree. Very fine beer. scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 24, 2007 Bottle. Pours a thick brown/black. A heavy beer by no doubt. A very intense taste similar to scotch, the alcohol is very noticable, an oak-aged taste is very aparent. guzzler67 (1276), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 14, 2007 Cloudy, copper appearance with an average size, off white head and moderate lacing. Woody, caramel malt aroma with hints of scotch and vanilla. Earthy, dark fruit, mildly spiced flavors. After the sweetness settles, the alcohol pounces and lingers through to the finish where it becomes a bit harsh. Full bodied mouthfeel with little carbonation. Had to get a second bottle because the first one wasted me before I could rate it. Definitely left a lasting impression. kkearn (997), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
