The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

Ooomph!!! Pours an extremely thick amber-brownish with not much of a head (it actually makes no sound at all as it is poured into the glass). The aromas are heavier than heavy!! Primarily raisins, dried dates, moscovado sugar, coriander, oranges, apricots and a brandy-like hint of alcohol. Thick and massive on the palate, it coats the tongue in sugar and delivers flavours of honey, apricots and a vinous aftertaste that lasts forever. This is truly an impressive and amazing beer, but also one where I wouldn’t want to drink more than - at most - a third of a bottle.

Pours a dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma is caramel, dark fruits, and lots of booze. The booze dominates the flavor as well, with some sweet dark fruits. Syrupy. The booze is a bit too much.

2004 bottle shared tonight by Todd, thanks for the opportunity! Very sweet and still has a bit of alcohol to it. Very fruity. Probably past but nice to try.

4.5 oz pour at highball. Super thick aroma of Sugar and malt. Holy cow this is super sweet any syrupy. If you want a beer that is maddeningly sweet medium malt abv bomb you must try. Amber maroon pour. Fig notes. Burns a little going down at 17.5.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 12 oz bottle, Batch 12, thanks James. Pours a clear golden caramel, head briefly appears when swirled. Aroma is boozy oak, vanilla and molasses. Flavor is hot booze and rum raisin with sweet molasses. Overall hot and aggressive, I’d like to try this in a year or two.

Batch 12. Draft at Moriartys on New Years Eve. Opaque brown pour. Frothy off-white head. Lots of great rich dark caramel malt flavors. Molasses. Cashew butter. Dark red stone fruit and berries. Honeycomb. Chewy toffee palate. Black peppercorn spice in the finish. ABV is well hidden. Feels like a big malty brew done up with some Christmas sugar.

Bottle. Batch 12. Muddy brown colour with soft white head. Aroma is raisins, clove, honey, and brown sugar. Taste is bitter up front, followed by brown sugar, spices, rich caramel, finshes bitter, with lingering heat, medium bodied, medium carbonation. Wow, this is a big beer, it’s somewhat boozey but considering the ABV not bad, its also very rich with plenty of complexity, a real slow sipper.
