The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

Yuck. This was an unfortunate drain pour for me. I aged it 6 months too! It is that typical high alcohol content smell/taste that has a bad sweetness. It is similar to D’extra and Samels. Not up my alley.

4 oz bottle pour (2010 Batch 8) at ChurchKey during the 22 years of Avery event. Clear dark amber with beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, oak, booze, caramel. Tastes of caramel, butterscotch, oak, booze. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Possibly slightly oxidized. Still a lot of booze after 5 years. Definitely a slow sipper unless you want to get stupid.

Pours clear mahogany with a thin buff head. Aroma has cloves, caramel, toasted malt and earthy tones. Flavor is indeed a beast, charging across the palate with caramel, spicy (mostly cloves), woody, earthy and toasted malt notes - and an alcohol bite like an angry tomcat. Body is form, fizz is good, and finish is sweet but not cloying. This Beast is a beauty!

WOW! One of my favorite beers ever! Had the 2104 vintage on tap at Tap & Bottle in Tucson. Pours creamy with the definite aroma of barrel aged rum. Taste is that of dark rum and honey with a heavy bourbon note. This is a BIG BEER.

Not bad. If they were striving for average, mission accomplished. Not the best but not horrible.

Aroma of oak, boozy, prune, raisin, date, spice, sugary. Pours a reddish amber with lasting creamy off white head Dark cherry fruitiness at first taste then prune and date like followed with a strong earthy bitterness. Complex and a bit overwhelming. Full bodied, medium CO2, lasting bitter finish. I would like to try this aged. Unique individual flavors. Good sipper with a friend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks Niels! Your a swell pal for sending this gem! High boost level and it definitely comes through. Appearance resembles most belgian quads. Murky brown tint, with a little tan head. Nose is big time caramel malts and booze. Taste was caramel and booze. Finish was caramel and booze. Overall, it was fun to try, but would re-trade this if I ever get it in a box again.
