3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pinky finger of Medium khaki colored head that only stuck around for a minute
Nice Creamy foam buildup on top.
When swirled it foams up but falls back in quickly.
Black as night.
Sweet. So much chocolate
Smells similar to the aroma that eminates when you make your own invert sugar (Belgian Candi Sugar).
Wow! Really thick.
Chocolate is the first thing youíll notice.
Taste the raisens. There is a tobacco flavor to it.
I can taste the alcohol. Itís not overwhelming, but itís definitely there. It actually suites this beer well. The sweetness and the warming from the alcohol are a nice combination.
Itís not the best Imperial stout, but it is extremely good.
I give this a B+. Itís good. Not great. But Iíd definitely have another without any argument.
Worth the Money?:
Itís worth what I paid for it ($6.99 for 22oz). It was an enjoyable experience. Iíd pay that for this again.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
2014 variety with stated 8.5% abv. Tan to brown head which isnít foamy but is liquidy. Dark dark brown to black with red hues in light. The nose is, honestly, magnificent. Chocolate goes without saying (that seems to be required on a stout) but the hazelnut and toffee are, in a word, enticing. In the first sip I think to myself "this is the best stout Iíve ever had." Perhaps a bit sweet? Thatís the only issue I can come up with. The layers of flavor are one of a kind. This is one for the shortlists out there.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Upon pour this stout looks promising. Dark near-black color with a nice dense khaki head. Smells of chocolate, mocha coffee, roasted nuts with just a hint of spice with a boozy undertone. Sipping this slowly I get the obvious cocoa/chocolate notes with some licorice/rye, coffee, toasted almond with some nice warming alcohol on the back end. Really an all around fantastic imperial stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
draft that poured almost black with little off white head. this one smelled nice roasted malts and chocolate plus a sweetness I couldnít pick up right away. I understand why my friend uses this beer to make brownies. the flavors are good and not overpowering like some others. nice blend of roasted malts. chocolates and maybe it was toffee or caramel something like that...body was not as thick as you would except made for a pleasant surprise...overall very tasty.

3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is to sweet for me, but I think itís appropriate for the style. I taste toffee and alcohol. Not much roast. Not a lot of hops.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Vintage 2013. Black and oily with light mocha head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, black liquorice, and roasted malts. Taste is coffee roast, anise, dark chocolate, and light bitterness. Finishes slightly bitter with a black liquorice aftertaste, medium bodied, a bit of heat on the finish. Pretty tasty, lots of black liquorice no a nice amount of bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
After their miserable White Rascal they redeem themselves. A good but not great stout. Dark. A smell of roasted chocolate. Thick head. A bit bitter. Warm wash down. Since it is a bit roasty it cools down quickly. Definitely a winter beer.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Batch 12, Oct 2013.
Poured from a bomber into a tulip on 06.29.14.
A: Sweet malt, chocolate, dark fruit. Very sweet and delicious smelling.
A: 2 finger brown/tan head that stays. Midnight black body with some red at the bottom.
T: Chocolate, dark fruit, and sweet malt are dominant. A slight wood/roastiness, and spiciness are subtle.
P: Creamy smooth like silk. Nice bubbles on the back end. Medium chewy.
O: This does have some alcohol heat that is detectable on the back end. It also has some spiciness, but it doesnít overwhelm as in other beers. The spiciness actually nicely balances the sweetness.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Look: pours a dark black. Brown sugar colored head. Let's a little light through on the edges.
Smell: roasted malts. Chocolate. Bitter coffee. Alcohol.
Taste: roasted malts first thing. Chocolate on the back. Coffee somewhere in the middle.
Feel: dryer than i expected for a stout. Relatively thin mouth feel.
Overall: nice beer. Really want to know if this is supposed to be a drier form of stout.
First drank: home 1/11/15
Vintage: October 2014
