3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pinky finger of Medium khaki colored head that only stuck around for a minute
Nice Creamy foam buildup on top.
When swirled it foams up but falls back in quickly.
Black as night.
Sweet. So much chocolate
Smells similar to the aroma that eminates when you make your own invert sugar (Belgian Candi Sugar).
Wow! Really thick.
Chocolate is the first thing youíll notice.
Taste the raisens. There is a tobacco flavor to it.
I can taste the alcohol. Itís not overwhelming, but itís definitely there. It actually suites this beer well. The sweetness and the warming from the alcohol are a nice combination.
Itís not the best Imperial stout, but it is extremely good.
I give this a B+. Itís good. Not great. But Iíd definitely have another without any argument.
Worth the Money?:
Itís worth what I paid for it ($6.99 for 22oz). It was an enjoyable experience. Iíd pay that for this again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Thick, fine, tan head on black. Dull and cloudy. Fruity nose, berries, chocolate, marmalade, cola. Rich flavor, fruit and umami, miso, citrus. Noble hops, chocolate, vanilla. Weird stuff, a bit like stanky natto.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Batch No. 14 November 2015 10.1%
Pours black with a thin tan head. The aroma is heavy. It has chocolate, whiskey, cherry, licorice, and hints of coffee, with the whiskey and cherry standing out most. The taste is sweet and very boozy. Here I find the noted whiskey, along with chocolate, vanilla, spices (Belgian?), cherry, mild coffee, and a touch of raisin. The aftertaste is a long lasting combination of chocolate, vanilla, and alcohol. This is heavy in body, has a thick texture, and has minimal carbonation. This is a good heavy stout, though I believe I might like it better if it wasnít so sweet. The portrait of Tsar Nicholas II on the bottle is cool.

June 6, 2015. Vintage 2007, on tap at Akkurat.
Black with a small frothy tan head. Aroma is creamy and roasted malts with coffee, milk chocolate, figs, cocoa, black berries, hints of licorice and soya. Taste is sweet, light dry and slight boozy. Finish has sweet berries, dried fruits, licorice, dry bitter cocoa notes, milk chocolate, and warming alcohol. Medium bodied, soft small bubble carbonation.
Aroma is great, finish is slightly too dry and boozy.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz bottle. A little underwhelming, this was the 2015 version but I picked up some winey notes typical of aged brews. No head whatsoever. A little hoppier than a typical imperial stout. Otherwise flavors were pretty muddled, nothing stands out. Still a very nice beer but for the style a bit of a let down.
