3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pinky finger of Medium khaki colored head that only stuck around for a minute
Nice Creamy foam buildup on top.
When swirled it foams up but falls back in quickly.
Black as night.
Sweet. So much chocolate
Smells similar to the aroma that eminates when you make your own invert sugar (Belgian Candi Sugar).
Wow! Really thick.
Chocolate is the first thing youíll notice.
Taste the raisens. There is a tobacco flavor to it.
I can taste the alcohol. Itís not overwhelming, but itís definitely there. It actually suites this beer well. The sweetness and the warming from the alcohol are a nice combination.
Itís not the best Imperial stout, but it is extremely good.
I give this a B+. Itís good. Not great. But Iíd definitely have another without any argument.
Worth the Money?:
Itís worth what I paid for it ($6.99 for 22oz). It was an enjoyable experience. Iíd pay that for this again.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black but looks brown when held to light. Khaki head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of chocolate predominates, peanuts, anise, marshmallow. Taste of coffee, vanilla, anise finishing with mild clean alcohol. Tobacco lingers at finish. Mouthfeel thin for imperial stout. Overall, decent. Not mind blowing but solid

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Bottle says oct 2014- 8.5%
Pours dark brown/black with no head. Opaque. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, alcohol, molasses. Taste is sweet upfront with a subtle bitterness underneath. Palate is medium-full body. Thick texture. Overall, a really decent stout. Not the best, but very good for the pricepoint. Fairly complex. A little too sweet and a little light on body.

4.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My favorite so far. 10.3% ABV. It went ok with pizza, then was even better with a chocolate chip cookie. Then by itself, yum. Great mouth feel and body. I love everything about it.

3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Got the 2009. It was on sale for 8.99. Smooth beer strong caramel and honey with some chocolate. I aged a bottle about a year and it was stronger alcohol but got dryer and seemed to lose some flavor

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz. bomber from La Vista Liquor. 2011 batch, 10.57% abv. Pours jet black with little head. Aroma of chocolate, dark cherries, anise, caramel malt, roasted barley, and booze. Taste is well balanced, the soft caramel sweetness is offset by the roastiness and light hop bitterness. Easy to drink and smooth for such a high abv. Full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, long, sweet finish. Iím starting to like Avery beers better overall the more I try them, I think Hog Heaven turned me off because it was too hoppy but The Czar is smooth and fine.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Corvallis Brew Supply, Corvallis. Pours a deep, dark brown, some tan head. Aroma truly bizarre; raisins, candi sugar, cocoa powder, some roasted malts. Body full yet smooth, just a bit of boozy burn in the finish. Different for sure.
