beerheart (232), Erie, Colorado, USA Nov 29, 2008 On tap at the Avery tasting room, Nov 29, 2008. Poured black with a tan, diminishing head. Tasted roasted malts, raisins, and cherries. Finish was slightly bitter with a light lingering alcohol burn. This will taste much better with cellaring. FrankJohansen (2876), Sabro, Denmark Nov 29, 2008 Bottle. Pitch black colour with a huge mostly lasting light brown head. aroma and taste of roasted malts, fruits, licorice and coffee. Nice semi bitter finish. JohnnyJ (719), Oceanside, California, USA Nov 28, 2008 Pours a dark black with tan head. Dark fruit, chocolate, caramel malt, hints of coffee and smoky malt. Pretty typical IRS, Very tasty, but nothing that stands out for the style. nefarious (69), grand blanc, Michigan, USA Nov 28, 2008 decent impy stout. looks just like an stout but the aroma was of vegtables, malts and sweets. this beer got better as it warmed and enjoyed it a touch more. the mouthfeel was aweful thin and it didnt finish well. not bad just ordonary. drinkable. better than most but not as good as alot.
daknole (1131), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 27, 2008 Tasting at Brewtopia. Finally I get to try this. A very nice stout indeed. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, molasses, dried fruit and some roastiness lead to a very nice beer on the tongue. It is a tad thin, but the flavors or chocolate, coffe and molasses are balanced well by a dose of hops. I liked this and will drink more.
