The Kaiser once said, "Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world." If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we'd all be "sprechenden Deutsch!" We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest - gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops - then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest.

Great photo of Kaiser Wilhelm on the label with a spike sticking out of his helmet. Unfiltered rust colored pour with a light head. Full malt and hop aroma plus a little orange or peach. Full molasses and malt flavor to start, with mellow, peppery hops coming it. Some cheese and grain notes too. This supercharged marzen is an excellent beer, the first imperial Oktoberfest I have seen. This Kaiser could kindle dreams of a fourth reich.

pours clear copper with small head (perhaps too cold). Tan head of small bubbles with nice lace. malty sweet aroma with nutty notes. no hops on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel, spicy alcohol to start. Good malt base with herby hops, woody aftertaste.

Appearance is a burnt orange hue. Right on for the style. Aroma is big on the caramel/toffee, some hops and alcohol. Flavor is more of the same, with more emphasis on hops than I’d anticipated. The bready and caramel aspects come in spades upon the first sip. The hop bitterness and flavor clean things up and balance the beer out. Finish is snappy and clean. Wow. For 10% there were no real syrupy qualities and it was very clean. This seems like a lager version of a barleywine, and I like it! Great beer!

The look is a bright clear golden amber color with a generous white head. The aromas are spicy, honey, clove, and malts. The flavors are malts and spices.

Strong alcohol presence, a bit oily finish, strong hoppiness, finishes a bit softer than it starts.

2007 bottle pours reddish orange with a thin beige head. Massive malty aroma with notes of hot alcohol. Flavor is loads of maltiness with some spiciness from the alcohol in the finish.

Clear dark orange amber, modest head. Caramel and breadcrust aroma initially with an added faint fruit element after it sits awhile. Sticky sweet malt and boozy faintly fruity finish. I found the alcohol to be quite intrusive in the finish and it became too harsh after a while. Just okay for me.
