DuffMan (2721), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada Dec 31, 2008 Clear dark orange amber, modest head. Caramel and breadcrust aroma initially with an added faint fruit element after it sits awhile. Sticky sweet malt and boozy faintly fruity finish. I found the alcohol to be quite intrusive in the finish and it became too harsh after a while. Just okay for me. Maverick34 (686), New York, USA Dec 24, 2008 Draft (2008). Pours a darkish amber with little head. Some malts & grains Alcohol was not as noticeable to me as to others, I kind of liked it. jetzler (622), oklahoma city, Oklahoma, USA Dec 21, 2008 Bottle, Pours cloudy, with little head, not very hoppy a bit too sweet and a lot of alcohol. Imagine an light oktoberfest add some frosted flakes and a shot of vodka and you have this brew. Maybe im an ass but I just thought it was too big and hot to be noteworthy. Gætter på den er langt bedre frisk. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Dec 17, 2008 bomber. red with quarter inch white head which leaves no lacing. some sugarcoated malts on the aroma. full body. quite the asskicker.. this one packs a punch. spicy up front, smooth yet alcoholic on sides, some caramel. somewhat strong finish. you could lie this one down for a year or so... the hops are pretty subdued. really enjoyed this one. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Dec 17, 2008 nutty oaky mapley syrup aroma. Im not one for sweet beers, but this has a very drinkable and nice nutty sweetness in the flavor. Medium body. HIghly drinkable. fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Dec 16, 2008 Updated: Sep 27, 2009Pours slightly hazy pumpkin pie orange witha thin, but everlasting, creamy, off white head. Aroma is huge on caramel, and grain, theres a definite toasted marshmallow note that is pretty inviting, hop notes are all floral and go with the noticeable sweetness very well. Flavor it very toasty at first, a decent amount of spice comes in along with huge toffee. There are some pitted fruit and floral hop notes to the finish, bitterness is very low alcohol content is quite noticeable. A little sweet grainy malt comes in but doesn’t really pull it off as an Oktoberfest. Although I don’t really think this fits the Oktoberfest style well, I don’t think I have ever had an Imperial Oktoberfest so I can’t knock on it too badly. I did enjoy this beer, I just like a little more grain in my oktoberfests. 17thfloor (1403), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 16, 2008 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish orange with a clear small beige froth. Fruity floral aroma, some sweet rich caramel, with noticeable alcohol. Doughy sweet first taste, lots of abrasive alcohol, rich caramel, lightly nutty. Not really impressed. I love the taste of a traditional oktoberfest, and this beer exhibits some of those qualities, however, the booziness just throws it over the top and makes in not as enjoyable. Smooth glassy, almost syrupy, body with light soft carbonation. Not particularly impressed.
