The aroma had some bitter orange in it which threw me off. Nice body, slightly thick. Nothing stood out in this beer for me. Will try again to give a better judgment. scoth (274), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Pours clear amber with a two-finger beige head, good lasting head. Aroma of caramel, apple, biscuit and spice. Full, thick and slightly sticky body, lightly dry. Caramel and sour apple flavors, very sweet and malty, spicy, some earthy grass notes. Lightly dry finish, but not enough to balance all the malt. MrBunn (1525), Western, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas are sweet and fruity (smells almost like pear juice). Flavor has that sweet, tree-ripe pear flavor throughout with highlights of some alcoholic bite and some honey/butterscotch malt. Something seems a little out of whack here, with some ragged edges: a little bit of astringent alcohol at times, sweetness bordering on cloying, a peppery spiciness that starts to assert itself mid palate and then vanishes bringing you back to sweet frutiness. I’m wondering if a bit of aging might remedy some of these abrupt quirks. Hophead22 (1087), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA

Similar flavor with plenty of spice and the alcohol really coming through in the finish. Lots going on in the flavor; just not terribly pleasing. tonyd56 (4), USA does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2008 2008 bottle.
