May 13, 2008 Coppery amber pour with a decent white head. Fruity aroma of caramel and alcohol. Sweet tangy caramel malt flavor, big and potent. Wow. Lightly syrupy on the palate. Excellent.

May 12, 2008 Updated: Jul 16, 20092007 bottle marked as 9.37% ABV. Aroma is spicy, slightly metallic, with a couple of light fruity esters. Creamy, off-white head covering an amber body. Decent lacing. Taste is immediately buttery with quite a bit of DMS, then malty and a bit nutty in the finish. Smooth mouthfeel.

May 10, 2008 Bottle. Amber with thick foamy long-lasting off-white head. Fruity but clean aromas. Banana, coriander. Flavors include apple, pear, plum. Slight bubblegum. Some rum too yet the sweetness is distinctly German in character. Remains quaffable in spite of strength. Commendable job: tastes exactly as it should for what it claims to be.

May 10, 2008 Bottle (22oz.) @ home. Poured a clear, dark amber hue with a one-finger thick head of beige foam that lasted throughout the entire glass. Produced nice lacing on the glass. The aroma was caramel malts and notes f bread and cookies with some wood. The flavor was mild citrus hops (orange and grapefruit), bread, caramel. Alcohol is noticeable but not unpleasant. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with moderate carbonation. Another excellent offering from Avery.

May 7, 2008 Cloudy amber pour with a thin white head. Interesting aroma of caramel sweetness and malt. Flavor of caramel, malt and some hops. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. The beer is interesting, but not as much as a good oktoberfest would be.

Apr 26, 2008 GORGEOUS POUR! Beautifully mat amber color, just gorgeous. Equally wonderful aroma. sweet & flowery, not to hopy (kinda like green tea). By far the best Oktoberfest i have ever tasted. FANTASTIC! Sweet barley and very malty. this is an exceptional beer.

Apr 21, 2008 Pour: Deep Thick reddish hue with an off white head.
Nose: Rich caramel malt with sweetness and a hint of citrus.
Taste: Very big octoberfest beer. A bit too much. There is a huge complex malt character with sweetness and hopps on the end.
Body Thick and rich
Finish: Slightly acidic.
Overall: This beer is an avery style beer it is very huge. The one thing that this beer needs is a better finish and a bit toned downed. It was tasty neverthe less.

Apr 18, 2008 2007 - A lot of people like this beer a lot more than I did. I am just a little more traditional when it comes to German styles and I think they should leave well enough alone. Having said that, this is just another Avery example of pushing the limits and making everything bigger and bigger instead of better and better. This is way too malty, I never thought I would say that, but this is just too much.
