mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Nov 19, 2007 2005 Edition complimentss of Piscator. Medium carbonation, bit sweeter than i expected. nice hop finish kiscokid (10), Mount Kisco, New York, USA Nov 16, 2007 Bomber from HalfTime. Bottled in 2007. Light copper, very clear. Beautiful. Head starts very white and dissipated quickly. Huge caramel flavor, nicely hopped but not overly so, nicely winey not too much. Sweet. Very tasty indeed. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Nov 16, 2007 2005 edition. Hazy amber in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of toffee, caramel, apricot, alcohol, and floral hops. Flavors are heavy on the bready malts and black pepper, with more apricot and alcohol. A bit of a sherry note... probably oxidation, but perhaps this is to be expected in a two year old bottle. There’s a good amount of hop bitterness on the finish too. It’s not really fair to compare this with standard oktoberfest beers, as it’s more intense in just about every regard. I think it achieves what it set out to achieve. pythonmets (14), Charles Town, West Virginia, USA Nov 15, 2007 Bottled in 2005. Dark amber, nice rocky one finger tan head that never diminished, nice lacing. Sweet to the nose, even sweeter to the tongue. Malty and sweet up front, finishing clean and dry. Very nice. clasley (153), Arkansas, USA Nov 14, 2007 650 ml bottle. Pours a medium-light copper with a dense off-white head. Complex nose with notes of malt, spice, plum and caramel. Medium-heavy body with a surge of flavors. Spicy plum and toffee notes up-front offset by a nice malt and hop profile. Pleasant lingering finish. Edmoe (126), Orlando, Florida, USA Nov 14, 2007 Dark copper with off-white head (1 finger). Nice lacing. Malty-sweet aroma with light fruit and the slightest hint of cheese (Is my my bottle old?). Taste is sweet, malty, slight diacetyl. Good mouthfeel. Very tasty. mreusch (715), Olathe, Kansas, USA Nov 7, 2007 Bomber, pours a clear light amber with a frothy one finger tan head, good lacing. Aroma is candied fruits, caramel malts, and some spice. Flavor is light spice and more candied fruit sweetness, kinda like fruitcake; some warming alcohol present. A bit sweet, overly malty and generally unexciting; guess I’m still looking for that Avery beer that can break the 4.0 mark for me... BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Nov 7, 2007
