zeke626 (301), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Oct 4, 2009 Bottle, 2009 bottling. Pours a lovely, clear, orange-copper body with off-white foam. Aroma of sugar, candy, caramel malts, bread, and maybe a hint of grapefruit hops. Flavor is more of the same with the hops slightly more pronounced. Medium to heavy body with a almost syrupy texture. Slightly sticky and cloying on the palate. Lightly carbonated. Overall, it’s decent but the syrupy mouthfeel gets to be too much after awhile. TopTekeUWM (20), Wisconsin, USA Oct 2, 2009 Bottle pours brown amber color with little to no head. The malt is amazing with this beer. In both the nose and the taste along wth some spices and finishes dry with the hops. Mouthfeel is big malts and low carbonation. This is what an Oktoberfest should be. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Sep 30, 2009 Courtesy of angrypirate06. Dark amber with a tan head. Malty sweet, bready spicy aromas. Smooth medium body. Malty sweet flavors of earthy dark bread, roasted nuts. Alcohol is well cloaked. angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Sep 28, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown with beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts, nuts. Flavor is coffee, almonds, smoke, ash, nutty. Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 27, 2009 Thanks to angrypirate06. Faint maybe bread and malt smell. Alcohol is completely masked. Malty aftertaste. Ryan82SM (231), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Sep 27, 2009 Aroma of sourdough, nutmeg and ripe orange. Appearance is red copper with an off tan head that stuck around. Flavor is sour with some hop presence, perhaps squash and potato and more nutmeg, nice hop finish. Palate is lively and bubbly. Outstanding beer. killjoy966 (215), Washington, USA Sep 25, 2009 22 oz. bomber ). Deep ruby-brown with a thin mother-of-pearl head. Certainly looks gorgeous. Faint nose belies intense malt flavor. The hops balance it out pretty well, but there’s little you can do about the alcohol. I always Oktoberfest beers were brewed for massive consumption (as in a lot per day) but this Imperial should be treated with kid gloves. 13mikey (117), New Hope, Minnesota, USA Sep 22, 2009 Copper color, malty aroma with a slight citrus note to it. Foamy white head. Very sweet flavor, malty and slight hops to the taste. A bit of lemon in the finish. Lots of IPA elements to this Oktoberfest which makes it very unique.
