Toffe carries into the flavor with more hoppiness than would be expected in a regular Octoberfest. Full bodied and pleasant, but not your typical ’fest beer. illinismitty (1795), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2007 Bottle that Springslicker brought to the Nashville Tasting. Pour amber with a small white head. Aroma was not as expected, it was more funky like a bier de garde.Lke many Avery high ABVbeers, this was sweet and syrupy. So much that it overpowers the german characteristics. Tyler*Durden (71), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 13, 2007 Amber colour wiht a small white head, this beer has small floral aroma with tastes of caramel and hops. The alcohol is noticeable, but given the ABV, it is well-balanced and easy to drink. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA

Pours a clear reddish copper, topped by an inch or so of cream colored foam. Okay head retention and lacing. Sweet malt and some fruit in the aroma.
Caramelly beer, very sweet up front, loaded with caramel and dark honey. A raisiny yeast frutiness accompanies that. The hops provide good balance to a sweetish beer, with a light but lasting bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.
Full body, smooth and gently carbonated. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2007 I did not think i would like this. I’m not a fan of Oktoberfest styles... but this changed my mind. Nice malty aroma, great sweetness and overall fantastic balance. A bit like an american ale more than a marzen to me. Solid beer. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2007 The color is incredibly nice, red amber and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel. The flavour is sweet, very sweet, but not sticky and it has a nice counterweight in a dry citrus-bitter finish. The flavour has notes of caramel and aroma hops. 1721 slang (397), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Updated: Oct 14, 2009’09 bomber again. Just as great this time. Now I can purchase up the road, ahh. Yeah, so, a very solid, warming, Oktoberfest... then someone tells you the a.b.v., WTF!? Are you fucking kidding me? Still a very nice Euro-Strong Lager w/ added Fall complexities. Clean Yeah.
’06 22oz. A tremendously large lager! , has a strong yet deep/complex malt backbone. The alcohol begins at its moderate level, but gets much more noticable when warmer... def. takes on a barley wine feel. agro0’s description works perfectly, well said. This is a good beer, and could be a great: a.) cheaper bomber, but hey!... b.) available in SOUTH CAROLINA : (
