slang (392), Columbia, South Carolina, USA Dec 27, 2006 Updated: Oct 14, 2009’09 bomber again. Just as great this time. Now I can purchase up the road, ahh. Yeah, so, a very solid, warming, Oktoberfest... then someone tells you the a.b.v., WTF!? Are you fucking kidding me? Still a very nice Euro-Strong Lager w/ added Fall complexities. Clean Yeah.
’06 22oz. A tremendously large lager! , has a strong yet deep/complex malt backbone. The alcohol begins at its moderate level, but gets much more noticable when warmer... def. takes on a barley wine feel. agro0’s description works perfectly, well said. This is a good beer, and could be a great: a.) cheaper bomber, but hey!... b.) available in SOUTH CAROLINA : ( RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Dec 26, 2006 Pours a clear copper with a nice fluffy head. Interesting peppery aroma. Light alcohol to it as well, with some caramel, bread, and dried fruit, but mostly pepper. Tastes very bready, with some toffee, caramel, and a light roast flavor to it. Finishes toasty, with some peppey hops to it and more bread in the aftertaste. A little bit hot, but it wasn’t too bad. Despite the imperial moniker, this beer remained easily drinkable. Malt flavors remained true to the O-fest flavor, which was nice. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain Dec 25, 2006 A nice beer -- definitely full and aromatic at 9.1%, but I found it to be a bit too sweet. Sugary malts that tend to dominate oktobfests made in America anyway were definitely here in full numbers. Not terribly soft-spoken, but an interesting take on a style that is consistently aborted by american brewers. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 24, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Clear amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Fat aroma of caramel malt and aroma hops. Very full-bodied - looks thick as oil when poured. Extremely solid and full malt base with almost sherry-like notes. The alcohol gets quite prominent in the finish. But lovely indeed. 221206 nhorween (639), Chicago, Illinois, USA Dec 18, 2006 Bottle. Malty, good hop profile. Much better complexity than I was expecting from and Oktoberfest. Balanced, smooth. Nice beer. AR (417), Georgia, USA Dec 17, 2006 A hazy dark orange with a slightly orange head. Flaavor is pleasing and smooth taste of both malt and hops. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Dec 12, 2006 Bottled. Amber golden coloured with a rather large head. Sweet and kinda alcoholic. Notes of nuts, caramel, fruits and yeasts. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA Dec 11, 2006 Pours an amber gold with a blonde head that is frothy and pillowy. The aroma is nutty, caramel, sour fruit, that has a crisp nose, and is tart in nature. The taste starts heavy on the palate syrup consistancy that has a caramel sweetness on the palate. The alcohal is warming and smooth followed by a toasted nut, charachter througout. The finish is again sweet with a nice hop bite that rounds out this delicious brew.
