Nov 10, 2006 Dark orange, amber colour with a large dense off white head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma with a hoppy floral note. Wellbalanced malty sweet flavor with caramel and hoppy notes and a light warming alcohol finish.

Nov 7, 2006 2004 bottle. Nice dark orange/amber color with medium head. Sweet, apple-cider and aged barleywine aroma (very similar to an aged DFH olde school). Taste is richly sweet - honey, sweet apples, and some degree of oktoberfest-ish malts. Not as much hops, but this is aged 2 years. Overall, about as good as it gets for an Oktoberfest, but if it were an ale it would probably be a considered something beyond the base style. Best lager I’ve had in awhile.

Nov 6, 2006 I think they just make up thier own styles. Smells like a golden ale, the taste is rather medium, not too heavy, with a dry finish. Pretty good per the style.

Head is smallish and does dissipate quickly. Aroma is dominated by fruity notes such as strawberries as well as caramel. The flavor is malty and fairly sweet, the alcohol is in the background.
One also gets some more fruit flavors combined with grains and only a faint hint of hops. Fairly big bodied with a nice finish.

Nov 4, 2006 Pours very clear, and bright orange with a thick, nearly white head. The aroma is full of malts, doughy bread, a little yeast, and a touch of fragrant hops. The flavor is quite malty, with a touch of fruity hop flavor, a little bitterness in the finish - quite quaffable (dangerous for a beer this strong). There is a little caramel in the flavor and the malt profile is excellently spicey and sweet. The beer’s finish is long and full-bodied with the hop flavor growing stronger as the finish lingers. The mouthfeel is thick and malty (almost chewy) with a nice crisp carbonation - not too thick, not syrupy, but definitely not light either. The named style of the beer (Imperial Oktoberfest) is quite appropriate.

Nov 4, 2006 Bottle 2006. Great looking beer. Amber color with nice thick, longlasting off-white head. Smells of malts, taste is sweet malt. Sort of like a barley wine.

Nov 2, 2006 Tap, O’Brien’s. Pours a dark amber to light ruby color. Strong roasted malt aroma along with a touch of hops and some dark fruit. Very creamy mouthfeel. Rich dark fruity flavor. Very full bodied. A little alcohol is present.

Oct 31, 2006 Bottled in 2006, mine says 9.1% ABV. Pours a clear orange copper with a two finger fading beige yellow head. The aroma is toasty malts, sweet maple and brown sugar, red delicious apples and raisins, very light ETOH presence. Some grassy and spicy hops as well. The taste is much the same minus the apples. Some spicy bitterness meets me up front followed by some brown sugar sweetness into a bone dry finish. Moderately carbonated, full bodied. ETOH is present in the finish, not terribly strong though. A pretty good Oktoberfest.
