ljay6880 (132), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 24, 2009 22 oz bottle served in a tulip glass. Pour copper/caramel color with 1 inch of quickly dissipating white head. Nose is sweet malt, light oranges, and a bit of spice. Taste is the same, yet the spice it more prevalent, especially in the lingering after taste. My first sip was so-so, but with every sip afterwards, I kept enjoying this brew even more! hophead21112 (110), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA Aug 16, 2009 Pours clear red-orange with a white head that sticks around for a good amount of time and leaves thick lace that recedes with the head but about 1/2 inch above it. Very clean looking beer. Aroma features an inticing, dominant malty sweetness with just a touch of the noble hop spice. Flavor is sweet up front from the 10% ABV and malts accompanied by carbonation, moves on to a thin, crisp, dry finish. Absolutely zero alcohol warmth, medium body, medium carbonation. Great beer! drowland (1360), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 15, 2009 From a bomber into a dimpled mug. I have to say I honestly didn’t love this - maybe just one style that shouldn’t be impy’d. skmikeg (70), Poway, California, USA Aug 15, 2009 pours a amber color with a thin off white head. aroma of malt, brown sugar, carmel, and toffee. flavor is very malty with alot of carmel, tofee, brown sugar butterscotch, and some nice spicness from the hops in the background to balace it out somewhat. moutfheel is not too sweet and is somewhat warming from the high abv. this now my new favorite oktoberfest. WhatNewinBooze (15), Centennial, Colorado, USA Aug 13, 2009 I look forward to the release of this beer every year. I truly enjoy Oktoberfest beers and this is ranked up there among my top favorites. The Kaiser is brewed with imported German malted barley, noble hops, authentic German lager yeast and cool Rocky Mountain water which are all intensified to bring this beer to 9.73% ABV. This beer pours a copper color with an orange tinge and a small white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aromas of malt, dried red berries and figs extend out of the glass bringing you classic aromas of Okotberfest marzen styles. Flavors of sweet malts and yeast linger on the palate with some alcohol warming. The finish is smooth and long with malty flavors pulsing the whole way through.
WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Jul 16, 2009 Bomber 2008 vintage, that I was going to share with wetherel, but this bottle needed to get drunk to make some space. Pours reddish orange with a tan ring. drinking drinking drinking drinking drinking drinking drinking...Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is quite nice with a lot of flavor. Nice work avery. KnN (712), Greenbelt, Maryland, USA Jun 23, 2009 Pours an amber color with a tin off white head. Pretty dark for a lager. Aroma is malt, and brown sugar, caramel and a little toffee. Had to steel myself for a big malt bomb on the flavor and this one didn’t disappoint. Not cloyingly sweet, but definitely a huge malty beer. Interesting. l1br4r14n (274), Washington, Washington DC, USA Jun 23, 2009 Malt definitely comes through in the aroma. Flavor is like simply a sweet malt heavy lager, with some alcohol warmness.
