The Kaiser once said, "Give me a woman who loves beer and I will conquer the world." If the Kaiser and his significant other had tipped this bottle, we’d all be "sprechenden Deutsch!" We took all that is good in a traditional Oktoberfest - gorgeous, deep copper sheen, massive malty backbone and spicy, floral, pungent noble hops - then intensified each into this, an Imperial Oktoberfest.

Poured from bottle into a large glass beer mug. Batch No. 9, August 2012, 9.1% ABV. From first appearance, it looks very good. Clear amber color with a nice big cream-colored foamy head. Lacing stays on the sides of the glass. Yeasty sweet aroma. Taste is a malty sweetness with a slight lingering bite of spiciness and alcohol. Below average level of carbonation but still sits well on the palate. The high ABV leaves a nice warming feeling and you will only need one for one sitting.

Pours a brilliant copper from a bottle, minimal lacing. Aroma is of a sweet tobacco, not processed but dried tobacco leaves, with some boozy esters. Flavor is reminiscent but not exactly creme brulee, with its bitter burnt sugar, and sweet cream/custard. A very pleasant heat in the throat. Great beer.

Sampled from 22oz bottle in pint glass. Appearance: pours a modest off white head that slowly falls with mild lacing. Color is a cloudy amber with mild streaming carbonation. Aroma: rich aroma of caramel, tangerine, and bread dough. Mouthfeel; light to medium bodied, quite sticky, with a dry and warming alcohol finish. Flavor: caramel, toasted bread, raisin, cinnamon, tangerine are all prominent. Overall: nothing to criticize with this beer. Quite delicious.
