4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DeputyAndy (626) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 25, 2010Botttle. Pours a beautiful amber color with an off white yellow head. Aromas show slight hoppiness and earthy german malts. Taste is very nice; lots of marzen malts with some sweet fruit flavors and just the right amount of hops. Mouthfeel is great; almost want to say creamy but smooth also works. Alcohol is so well hidden you’ll get caught.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 OKplus (379) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 9, 2013
A - Pours a cloudy amber red with a 1 finger off-white head and leaves descent lacing down the glass.
S - Caramel covered cereal, sweet bready dough, a kiss of orange. Reminds my of cinnamon toast crunch.
T - Rich toasted malts, dense caramel, sweet cereal grains, some cinnamon oatmeal, hints of acidic fruit come through, earthy bitterness helps with the sugary malts, finishes a tad hot.
Has a honey wheat biscuit aftertaste.
M - Chewy, thick, full bodied, low carbonation.
Just as you would expect an Imperial Octoberfest to be. It’s not complex but delivers a big punch of malt that is semi balanced with carbonation and herbal citrus hops. If you like malt bombs this beer is for you!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jkwood04 (2293) - Connecticut, USA - FEB 13, 2013
22oz bottle (2012 - 9.1% ABV) in a snifter. Pours deep amber with a lacy, light beige head. Aroma of strong of the nutty and caramel malts, a little alcohol, and a nice amount of floral hops. Flavor the same, with a good malt character and notes of toffee too. Average to smooth texture. Much better than a lot of beers in this style.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jeremyh70 (352) - Missouri, USA - JAN 14, 2013
Pours a clear orange/copper color, minimal white head with little retention and lacing. Sweet malty aroma, almost honey. Sweet taste of light fruit and light bitterness. Not very complex. Moderate mouthfeel and carbonation. Not a very good version of an Oktoberfest.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 chanokokoro (138) - Illinois, USA - NOV 26, 2012
2012 vintage 22 oz. bottle poured into an Avery Brewing branded short stemmed tulip/snifter.
Pours copper with glimmering orange accents topped with a creamy two finger off-white head. Above average head retention and a significant amount of lacing is present on the sides of the glass. The inviting, rich aroma of caramel with accents of toffee is rounded out by some grassy notes. Initially, semi-sweet caramel joined by bready yeast. Finishes with mild grassy bitterness and mild phenol alcohol. Medium to low level of carbonation, medium to full-bodied with a slick and a slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Interesting "amped up" version of a traditional marzen. Defintely trends boozy, however the above average abv never dominates. An very original seasonal especially for "big beer" lovers.
