puboflyons (589), New Hampshire, USA Apr 4, 2009 From a bottle marke Feb ’09 batch 9. This was given t me at a family function. The color is copper with a smallish head but reasonable lacing. The aroma is extremely hopped up. That’s the main thing you get. The taste is smooth but also very hoppy. It is a hop lover’s dream. Strong and true to the style. zizzybalubba (335), Elizabeth City, North Carolina, USA Apr 4, 2009 22 oz. bomber from Coasters. Batch 9 listed as 10.27%. Aroma is incredible, everything you would expect from a big Imperial IPA. Flavor is well balanced with hints of grapefruit. My only negative is that the alcohol may have been a bit too present but overall an excellent Double IPA. beergod (97), Houston, Texas, USA Apr 3, 2009 It’s been a while since i’ve had this beer, but i was quickly reminded of why i love this. Pours a great copper color with a nice head. Flavor is of grapefruit peel hoppyness, balanced malt, and a all around awesome! The nose is great and prepares you for what is to come. jjuf1853 (467), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Apr 3, 2009 On tap at International Beer Garten (Lutz, FL). Wow! This one really packs in the hops! The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium sized white head. The lacing just clings and lingers on the side of the glass. The aroma is dominated by grapefruit/citrus hops with a nice blend of malt as well. The flavor is more of the same with an excellent mixture of malt and hops, although the hops take center stage. Excellent bitter finish! shawnm213 (882), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 30, 2009 22oz bottle from city wide liquiors. Big hop profile. goes down easy. gotta get this one again soon JaBier (1130), Capital City, Ohio, USA Mar 29, 2009 On tap at Barley’s Smokehouse. Clear copper pour with a thin white head. Grapefruit hop aroma with a nice malt balance. Citrusy and piney hop flavor with a bit of malt and lingering bitter finish. Solid. mspindler (301), Alta Loma, California, USA Mar 29, 2009 Bottle at DuffmanSWs tasting. I had this one before but didn’t remember it. Pretty much the best IPA I’ve had since The Younger. Pours dark golden with an off white head. Aroma is fantastic! Very floral and piney, they manage to get away from that typical citrus of most IPAs.. Flavor is again floral and piny with some very nice sweet fresh fruits backing it up and a great, solid smooth bitterness. Medium to full bodied with creamy carbonation. A very unique and satisfying offer in a style I was starting to get bored with. Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Mar 29, 2009
Oh my lordy this junk rocks. I had it at the Stone Ruination I2PA vs. Avery Maharaja I2PA night at Abraxas in Miami Beach and was beyond pleased, I always thought that the stone IPA oproducts were too close minded- dry hopping and then quitting before any creativity went into their brew, but this guy- it has honey, fruits, and hoppy goodness, very ethnic and tasting very Indian. This would go so well with Tikamasala. Will purchase in bottled form, if only to see if it holds up to the tap version I had.
