Pours orange amber with a medium light tan head. Aroma is very nice strong citrus and floral hops with a touch of caramel detectable. Flavor is nicely hop-forward with grapefruit and floral flavors, some spiciness, just a touch of caramel, only enough to remind you that hops aren’t the only ingredient in the beer. Overall nicely dry and bitter. This is an excellent IIPA. reakt (938), Greater London, England Sep 22, 2008 Updated: Sep 25, 2008Bottle, courtesy of Sim, drunk with Mes @ the Wenlock for catweasel’s birthday. Amber with a nice sized off white head. Resinous hop nose, lots of citrus fruit and some malty funk. Bitter, grassy citric hops with grapefruit, orange, creamy dreamsicle, caramel and sweetish malts. Well balanced and much enjoyed!

I recommended this to everyone and no one seemed to like it so I had to have another go. I did find it slightly sweet & cloying with more sticky caramel than I remembered, but that first bottle was soooo amazing for some reason, maybe different batches? satan165 (541), River Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 21, 2008 Updated: Jan 17, 2009huge beer! i think this is a great IIPA and a better barley wine. i dont just say that because of the huge hops and ABV, this is truly an excellent warmed sipper. id like to detach my nose and leave it in the glass for a few hours, i think i could drink this at 60 degrees and enjoy it, ultra syrupy even with cold, it only gets better with warmth. Pungent aroma. Sweet hops, that’s for sure. Overly sticky sweet palate. BANG! Have I just been punched in the face? nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 18, 2008 Updated: Aug 24, 2009 Source:22 oz bottle from Midtown.

ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Sep 16, 2008 Sampled at EBF 2008. Clear amber, medium off-white head. Earthy potatoe malt aroma, perfumy and piney hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Well balanced, dry with a long bitter finish. ilherps (212), Carbondale, Illinois, USA Sep 16, 2008 This beer is very well balanced. There is an intense hop aroma, which comes in the form of citrus and pine. The flavor is strongly citrus and that nice piney-hoppy flavor that I’ve come to love, but it is very nicely balances with a carmel-malt character on the finish. This is a good one.
