Derek881 (489), Frederick, Maryland, USA Aug 11, 2008 Sampled on draft at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. A clear, dense amber color with a clingy, foamy, average-sized, off-white head with good retention. A rich aroma of good pine and grainy hops, maybe some toasty malt too. Nice bitter flavor with a sour finish, and heavy hops in the taste. A very full initial mouthfeel becoming drier as it progresses. Slightly thick on the palate, with good amounts of carbonation; really good IPA. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 10, 2008 orangish color with large white head. huge hop nose. flavor has a nice malt component but not much crystal like you would expect in such a hoppy ale. the hop flavor is huge and complex with no single hop variety coming through. a lot of alcoholic complexities but the alcohol is never very evident, which probably is the best part f the beer. a great beer that manages to result in a reasonably balance imperial ipa without a lot of sweet malt. great beer mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 9, 2008 [1435-20080531] Bottle. Super strong orange hops aroma. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a light pink off-white head. Nice bitter orange hops flavour with a nice long aftertaste. Medium body. Lovely beverage.

Overheard: "I don’t even want to drink it, I just want to smell it!" carruthm (1112), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 6, 2008 V - clear orange in color with a well enthused slightly off white head that’s slightly lacy.
A - bountiful hops with a distinct undercurrent of sweet caramel
T - limited hops at the start that grows a bit as it settles and then slowly fades into a malty finish
P - rather creamy uhclem (188), Loveland, Colorado, USA Aug 6, 2008 Bomber. Cloudy peach-colored pour with an off-white head that slowly collapses to moderate lacing. Nose is wonderful with a strong blast of grapefruit. Citrus and pine also peek out. Taste is a beautiful balance of sweet malt and bitter hops, mitigated by caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth and finish is lovely, lasting and bitter. The high alcohol content is remarkably subdue. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 1, 2008 Bottle. Clear amber in color with a thick purely white head. The head lasts for awhile and leaves strong lacing all around the glass. Great looking IPA. Aroma is strong, with lots of citrus and resin hops and also alcohol. Flavor is sweet and malty, giving way to a strong bitter hop finish. Alcohol is strongly present throughout. More "big" than balanced. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jul 27, 2008 Updated: Feb 26, 2009One hell of a kick. Excellent brew. Thanks to Honkeybra for the recommendation. Afterthought: I’m glad I rated this after the first few sips, since I don’t remember finishing it.
Rerate: Crushed with Jakebra. Got this about as fresh as it comes. Sticky, amber pour with huge head. Spicy, piney, bitter, awesome hop nose. Flavor is very sweet with a huge hop backbone, and the sweetness fades as it warms. nihar (68), Ohio, USA Jul 26, 2008 On tap at Jackie’O ... very strong aroma of hops... color is light golden brown, taste is very bitter, with a hint of malts... also a hint of citrus... a good clean IPA...
