Thick murky orange amber with a good white head and barely spotted lacing. Smell is big sweet hops with a bold fruit like presence - peaches appear more as it warms. Taste is awesome hops with a sweet malt balance. Finish is creamy and bitter but leaves an ideal sweet navel orange flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Overall, this is a great beer - it is creamy and satisfying and balanced and refreshing and YUM. darn1207 (528), Tallahassee, Florida, USA May 31, 2008 bomber. hazy orange color. one finger white head. grapefruit, apricot, caramel -- great smell. biscuit, toffee, malt sweet citrus. then a moderate bitter finish with a touch of alcohol. great stuff. K-8 phenol (7), USA does not count May 30, 2008 Beguiling nose, the usual IIPA aromas but do detect apricots? hmmm. Pours an orange to amber hue. nice. Citrus, sweet, hops, very round in the mouth- delicious. Soft texture and little carbonation which is welcomed with this flavor bomb. It leaves some lace- this beer is a meal and dessert.
A fun drink and not too steep of a hill to climb for a first beer- Imperial IPA. Deserves a WOW! DerBiermeister (503), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 29, 2008 Smells like fresh pine. Beautiful amber hue and bubbly, but not too much so. Sweet, cloying, and not too bitter - great IPA. Pours with a great head. changeup45 (782), Orlando, Florida, USA May 29, 2008 Bomber. Orange color, some sticky lacing and a nice aroma with a lot of pine needles and citrus hops and the longer it breathes the stronger it seems to get. Big hoppy flavor with a lot of pine needles, citrus grapefruit and oranges. Just enough sweet malt backing to still allow the hops to dominate. Very nice bitterness in the finish. Excellent! Arome d’houblon sucré, légèrement amère avec des notes de fruits du vergé. Goût d’houblon amère bien balancé, un peu fruité et sucré. Une double savoureuse! nefarious (202), Clarkston, Michigan, USA May 28, 2008 Ive been looking forward to this! Nice cloudy orange.....Thought the smell is a touch odd. Definate floral and citrus, especially oranges, but also cat piss. a little different.....maybe its just me. but a wonderful flavor. HUGE citrus flavor! its all about the orange and then grapefruit! WOW! and so think and an awesome bite at the end. The alcohol is hidden so well!!!!! Definatley one of my favorites! The only thing holding this back is the aroma which wasnt horrible. 17thfloor (1402), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 28, 2008 Pours hazy dark orange with a frothy beige head. Love the aroma on this one, Lots of fresh pine and citrus hops. A gracious sweet malt base for lots of salty piney hops. Some grapefruit and lime as well. Lots of bitter resin. Medium full body thats pretty sticky and has smooth but sparkly carbonation.
