Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan - "king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. This newest Avery Dictator completes the "Dictator Series" joining the likes of The Kaiser & The Czar. Be aware that The Maharaja is a limited release only available for the summer. Welcome to his kingdom!

On tap at Waypoint Public. Dark amber/orange pour with medium white head. Nose is citrus and pine; taste is malty upfront, with grapefruit and pine at the back, as well as some mint. Solid.

Bomber at Indian night shared 3 ways- thanks CC! Great IPA- hard to get to the bottom of it the first time- so much going on. Pours a hazy deep orange with a tight white head. Both super malty and super hoppy- pine, citrus, resin, caramel, tropical notes- all the IPA flavors in one big beer. Mouthfeel is slick and sticky. A big, bold beer that paired with the right mood and food works perfectly. Stood up to Indian spice beautifully.

Tap@ABC Tavern, Cleveland, USA. Strong, buttery aroma of barely matured peach. Copper/deep orange color with small staying white head. Strong taste with perfect combination of fruits (mango, citrus and others) and malts. Slightly layered medium/wide taste spectrum with medium fruity slightly hoppy aftertaste. Overall, schoolbook like DIPA without any particular emphasizings.

Bomber dated July 2015 pours a clear dark orange color with lasting 2-finger tight off-white head which leaves some lacing. Aroma is full of full of sweet caramel malts, dank hops, and lots of tropical fruits. Taste is bitter at first, but sweet through the middle, with a dry aftertaste that recedes to bready malts. Body is full but not too heavy, with slight carbonation. Mouthfeel is sticky, without the alcohol warming I expected from such a big beer.. This is a great IIPA I’m surprised I haven’t rated yet. I’ll definitely try this one again.

Smell is good...slightly sweet...taste is a hops punch in the mouth...rough at first but mellows with time...bold flavor, very smooth, slightly sweet...hops receeds more and more over time...so it gets even better

22 oz bottle. Amber appearance. Sticky. tan head and lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, caramel. Flavors of juicy citrus, hint of grapefruit/tropical fruits, pine, caramel. Light carbonation. Sticky mouth feel. Sticks around on the palate like some magically delicious hop candy. So very good!

22oz bottle poured into a snifter. The aroma is a sweet and warm citrus with some berry notes, a toffee sugar touch, and a lightly roasted grain. As it warms, the aroma turns tropical, with pineapple notes, grapefruit, and bread toast. There’s a heavy haze to the butterscotch orange hue, and it’s topped by a soapy white that has moderate retention and leaves good lacing. The taste is highly sweet with and complimentary high bitter. The syrupy texture is slick and smooth with a foamy carbonation and a full, but not heavy body. The flavor profile is citrus and toffee with a finish that’s juicy citrus. There’s a lingering, grainy note and bitter citrus that turns to an aftertaste of mild bread toast.

Bottle from beer junction.Pours with no head at all. Large hop bill but also a nice malt backbone. Juicy taste with a very present alcohol backend. Great! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22 oz bottle. Rich amber, with a sticky tan head and lace.,
Floral hop aroma hits as soon as you crack the bottle, in the glass it’s floral, citrus, pine and some sweet caramel malt.
Flavor is sweet caramel up front, that leads into juicy citrus, grapefruit, pine, some tropical fruit.
Carbonation is soft, mouth-feel is full. Nicely balanced. Each sip starts out like it is going to be too sweet, but finishes with a long tingly bitterness.
