22 oz. bottle. Bottled in 2005. A reddish-orange pour with thick fluffy sandy head that leaves rows of lacing. Aroma is powerful and pungent. Like walking through a field of freshly cut grass surrounded by trees of ripe lemons, oranges and grapefruits. Easily the most bitter beer Iíve ever tasted. This is like crack to a hop head. Powerfully bitter and hoppy. Sweet and tangy at the start with a warming belt of alcohol throughout. Then, those hops kick in... Full, syrupy body. At 9.7% ABV and 22 oz. this beer slapped me in the face...and I liked it! Cool bottle too.

Very clear, amber color. Aroma is hoppy and you can tell the malty aroma ... When tasting it i could tell the sweetness, very obvious sweetness. Then the bitterness comes. Well balanced. moderate dry finish. Nice!

At Whiskey Barrel. Pours cloudy yellow. Creamy mouthfeel with a orange floral thick middle and a long lingering tang.

Huge Titan of a beer that favors the malts over the hops. Flavor mostly of sweet malts with piney and bitter hops in the background. Thick mouthfeel. Intense sipper type of beer. Not my style. Would buy Ruinten over this to get more brightness from the hops. WBA.

Pours a golden color with lots of head. Not generally a fan of IPAs but this imperial pale ale was not bad at all.

22oz: Bloody good beer. Great appearance. Almost copper hue. Wonderful balance of both hops and malt however there is a Sh/t load of both. Rich with moderate to high bitterness.

Growler purchased at OíDarbys. Lotsa malt in aroma. Amber with a bit of lacing. Big hops - mostly piney and herbal, with sweet malt and honey with a bit of alcohol in back. Nice drinkability. A great IIPA.

Draft. Pours a dark orangish color. Aroma and taste are citrus, grapefruit, and a sweet backbone.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy dark amber with a medium head of off white foam. Medium thick syrupy body with lots of lacing. Slight aroma of sweet citrus and malts. Taste is very malt forward with a touch of bitterness. Silky smooth and hides the alcohol well. Not as well balanced as I expected.Feels more like an old ale or Barley Wine than a DIPA. Still fairly enjoyable.

Bottle that was old? I dont know. Very fruity floral for deep amber pour. Malty, very malty resin. A bit much.
