The aroma is sweet and very hoppy. Citrusy (grapefruit) and piney hops. The flavor is big bold hops with some sweet malts. Big bitter hop finish. Bold IPA with some balance. Up there with the finest DIPA’s out there. Very Nice. t4h2c0 (82), seattle, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Pours cloudy dark golden with small white head. Floral hop aroma, you know its guna be good just by smeeling it. Highly hopped while still having a strong malt backbone. Pretty thick, goes down slow and leaves a longlasting aftertaste of hop bitterness. Strong, keeps me warm any time of year!! TampaBrew (907), Tampa, Florida, USA

Flavor is a good balance of caramel, sweet sugar, hop bitterness, floral and citrus and pine hops. Excellent beer. Was part of a blind IPA/IIPA tasting. One of my favorites of the night. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 10, 2009 Bottled. Pours dark amber with a large offwhite head. Smells floral and hoppy. Has complexity in the flavor in addition to the expected hoppiness. I noticed cream, caramel and citrus notes as well. Very even palate. One of the best IPAs I’ve had. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2009 a- pours a clear orange/copper hue with 3-fingers of creamy white head that is mostly diminishing leaving thick lacing on the glass
s- WOW! Nose is of super-strong piney hops, tones of citrus fruits, sweet malt, and grassy earth, stiff alcohol presence in the background
t- Initial flavor is smooth and strong pine resin that soon warms to sweet citrus flavors and a peppery alcohol presence that dominates the finish
m- very full-bodied with lively carbonation
d- This is a hop-dominated ale that lives up to the DIPA billing, great flavor and aroma, but the abv is not very well masked and I don’t think I could finish more than one bomber if I wanted to be coherent the next morning TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 29, 2008 Huge pine and resiny nose. Orange with deep amber tones and slightly hazy. Thick foamy head. Great marriage of flavors, huge malty sweetness, the aroma and bitterness explodes right away to balance it off. Thick body with the alcohol and bitterness cutting through it all for a long smooth finish. Excellent Imperial IPA, seems this will age nicely too. rustychiles (1071), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 21, 2008 Pours a hazy reddish brown with a nice soapy head. I can smell the citrus and hops during the pour, and when you get up close you can even smell pineapple or some other fruity notes. Tastes of malt, a tinge of fruit, a hint of sweetness..........then you get some hop bitterness that combines with the previously mentioned sweetness that balances this one out very well.
I also have to say that it also hides the alcohol very well and could very well creep up on you if you’re not careful.
