COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Maharaja is derived from the sanskrit words mahat, - "great" and rajan - "king". Much like its namesake, this imperial IPA is regal, intense and mighty. With hops and malts as his servants, he rules both with a heavy hand. The Maharaja flaunts his authority over a deranged amount of hops: tangy, vibrant and pungent along with an insane amount of malted barley - fashioning a dark amber hue and exquisite malt essence. This newest Avery Dictator completes the "Dictator Series" joining the likes of The Kaiser & The Czar. Be aware that The Maharaja is a limited release only available for the summer. Welcome to his kingdom!

Glowing amber color with a large, fluffy of-white head. The aroma bursts out with citrusy goodness...grapefruit and orange. The flavor was intense...plenty of citrus bitterness, slight breadiness, pine and other wood, and some alcohol bite. The feel was sticky (not too much) with a definite crispiness. There was a suprising long, wet finish for such a bitter beer. You taste this thing for a long time after drinking it. Very nice!

bottle 2013. Light amber with one finger head. This has some age to it, so the hops have receded a bit, but Iíd say itís aged well. Medium body, with very little booze for the ABV. Hops are present, but well balanced. Medium bitterness.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Medium orange amber color, big beige head, waves of lace. Strong aroma of caramel malt. Taste is caramel malt that grows more assertive as it moves through the palate, adding an edgy alcohol burst in a medium finish. A strong brew, no doubt, but not heavy or filling. Highly recommended.

Hands down THE BEST beer I have ever had of any style. Amazing in every regard. The only downside is that it?s so hard to find on the East Coast. If you come across this one don?t miss the opportunity to try it.

Pours golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is citrus, pine and a caramel...that melds together perfectly. Taste is moderate to heavy bitters with a tempering sweetness. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a thicker texture. Very solid with the alcohol exceptionally well hidden.

Bottle. Great hoppy, bitter nose. Lots of citrus, pine, and grapefruit. Full bodied and bitter, intense hop resin, pine and citrus. Finishes clean and balanced.

Classic Rocky Mountain style. Amber color, crushing hop bitterness, huge body that overtakes everything else. I almost want to take one of these and age it to see what happens. Very very good.

Bottle at S&G tasting. APPEARANCE: clouded darker blond beer, small stable off white head. NOSE: pine, hoppy. TASTE: pine, hoppy, dry, caramel, too sweet though.

The really malty backbone on this imperial is what makes it so ridiculously good! Aroma is lots of piney hops and grapefruit rind. Taste is very resiny with notes of citrus peel--the explosion of malt is over the top... like a barley wine. Finish is deep and full bodied. excellent.
