3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a medium copper with a slight head. The head goes quickly, with little lacing. The upfront is kind of sweet with some alchohol flavors. Not hoppy enough for me, although finishes clean and dry. More hops would have gave it better balance and I think an overall better beer. I will try again and hope for better results.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Release #18, 2014 pours a cloudy burnt orange color. Sticky lacing. Great carbonation. The nose on this one is fantastic. Could smell this from 2’ away as soon as I cracked the cap off the bomber. Massive hoppy dankness, oranges, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, sweet bready malt, pine resin . Taste is dank hop forward with tropical fruit undertones. Resinous. Solid malt backbone blends the flavors nicely. Dry bitter finish but not overly so. Just an awesome DIPA and pretty underrated IMO. The last time I drank this it was at a Pliny the Younger tasting and I thought it was better than PtY and still do.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Ruddy orange with very little head. My bottle seemed to have very small pale bits floating throughout.. Smells like pine, citrus (lemon), a little bread. Orange marmalade and a hint of raisin that turns quite piney and bitter. Thick mouthfeel; resinous. Excellent.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
nice tart citrusy aroma, some resiny qualities with a bit of fruity sweetness for balance..very nice orange amber appearance thin pale head leaves some lacing..strong hop presence in the flavor though not overwhelming, grapefruit, pine resin, apple cider, and just enough maltiness to smooth things out..easily drinkable leaves an apple/bitter aftertaste and med bodied..alcohol strength not apparent..overall if youre a hop fan treat yourself to this once in awhile unique and well done without being weird

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice sticky mouthfeel that is slightly sweet but leaves a lingering bitterness. The aroma is underwhelming but the taste provides an enjoyable array of hop flavors that overlap a bready malt backbone.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours glowing copper with an off white thin head. The aroma is mainly juicy grapefruit with a malty undertone. The taste adds watermelon, earthy hops, and a touch of bitterness. The mouthfeel is very light and clean for an imperial ipa. Very drinkable, smooth, and all around great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Release no.18 2014. Medium amber pour with a slight ruby cast. Excellent head and good lacing retention. Nice complex nose of citrus (grapefruit, mango, orange) and spruce hops over a rich caramel background. Almost full bodied with a creamy texture and a slightly above normal carbonation level that has a bit of effervescence on the finish. The flavor profile is complex, but a bit unbalanced due to the alcohol content bite. It begins with the hop flavors of the nose, flows to a rich caramel sweetness which is accompanied by a medium well rounded bitterness. It progresses to the finish where alcohol predominates over a residual sweetness, leaving an alcohol burn on the tongue and back of the throat. While outstanding, it could be improved by reducing the alcohol content a percent or two to achieve better balance.
