UPDATED: OCT 22, 2009 Avery tap room 9/22/09. Aroma; sour cider. Taste; sour peaches, astringent/ dry teabag, sour mash whiskey. (Avery’s only disappointment besides the Kaiser???)

Crushed with Jakebra on tap at the brewery. Cool combination. Regular Reverend was aight, bourbonized is badass. Very subtle bourbon notes enhance everything about this brew. Very smooth mouthfeel. Pretty awesome.

2008 GABF week @ Avery. Slightly hazy honey gold color. Nose is honey and candy sugar with an Irish whiskey-like note, not the typical bourbon character but something more like Bushmills... unfortunately, a lot of the Belgian qualities of the Reverend are muted by the barrel aging, and the whole thing comes across as a mildly boozy fruit, honey, tea and whiskey experience. Body is medium to thin, little to no yeast noticed... overall a bit of a disappointment.
